Anna Ribbeck is the newest addition to the cast of Swamp People on History Channel. Anna is thrilled to have been given the chance to be on the show and can’t wait for the new season to premiere. She started filming as soon as she was cast, just before gator season.
Anna was paired with returning cast member Ashley Jones, whom she has known for years, to work on a new boat. The two put in a lot of effort working together to help their squad. Every day from sunrise until about two p.m., they went outside. Then, until four or five o’clock in the evening, they would sell the gators they had caught that day.
This was what they did six days a week. Thus, as many would imagine, this was a tiring task. Nevertheless, Anna expressed her desire to return and assist Ashley on the yacht.
Not only did she love working with Ashley, but she also described the encounter as “really positive” in general.
“It’s pretty incredible what you learn from everybody out there,” Anna said. When asked what she was most looking forward to viewers seeing, Ribbeck revealed that she used a bow to hunt gators.
“It’s the first time it’s ever been done on the show,” Anna added. Her first hunting experience was not with a bow and arrow. She explained that she started out in competitive archery and that she bought a bow and learned how to hunt with it when she went to college.
Anna’s job as a gator hunter has made her friends in different places and one of the friends knew “the producer and he thought I might be a good fit for the show, so he reached out and I got an interview last year. Then I didn’t hear anything for like, quite a few months. Then I got a call right before the show started and they were like, ‘Hey, another audition round, here it is.’ I got the call right before the show in September (2022) and they were like, ‘Hey, you’re on.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my goodness!.'”
Fun Fact: Swamp People isn’t Anna’s first TV show. She previously appeared on Wheel of Fortune in 2018.
