Meet Wilford Carter, April Carter Father
Wilford Dean Carter is the father of April Carter. He is the son of J. B. Carter and Arine “Ella Mae” Victorian Carter. Wilford’s parents were married for 51 years.
His father was born on 27 April 1927 was born in Church Point, Louisiana to Norris and Mathilda Mayfield Carter.
Wilford began his successful career in paint and body as a young man, having worked for Watts-Pumpelly Volkswagen, Cagle Chevrolet, and Shetler Lincoln Mercury. He was a proud member of Cornerstone Masonic Lodge #229 for sixty-five years. He was also a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church for over seventy years and Sacred Heart Catholic Church which he began attending when courting his “Ella Mae”.
