It really allowed me to focus, develop my work ethic, and create some type of imaginary world,” She previously said. “Next thing I knew, his figurines would have little jackets, and I thought, ‘What’s going on here?’ I guess in his mind, everyone should have a change of clothes.”

Bishme had to deal with the colon cancer diagnosis of his sister. In 2023, the designer struggled with his emotions throughout Project Runway All Stars.
During several challenging stages of the “redemption” challenge, he spoke with producers. He was participating in the design competition in episode 2 and it had only been two months following the demise of his sister. Chimere Faye Didley, Bishme’s older sister, tragically passed away on July 24, 2022.
According to a Go Fund Me page created for Chimere, she was given a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis in April 2018, barely eight months after she married her devoted husband Scott. In 2023, Bishme will return to Project Runway as a tribute to his sister.
In the most recent post, Bishme mentioned his sister, “Sometimes it’s about being able to push through and concur your fears. This was a rough challenge. I wasn’t even that happens with my look at the time. But now I see the beauty in it and I’m thankful that my sister was by my side to help me complete this look. 💗🫶🏾.”
Chimere was born on 15 December 1979 in Newsburg, New York. She passed away on 24 July 2022.
