New York resident Chi Tang is one of the contestants on Discovery’s Hairstyle, The Talent Show. Hairstyle: The Talent Show, created by Shine Iberia, premiered in the United States on November 17, 2023. Featuring Maestro Rossano Ferretti as the host and stylists Riawna Capri and Nikki Lee as co-hosts, this unique concept aims to find the next big name in hairdressing in the nation.
Maestro Rossano judges ten professional hairdressers from the United States on their talent, skills, and creativity. Along with a co-host from each nation, Rosanno will assess the candidates’ work in every broadcast. They won’t be by themselves, as well-known celebrities will stop by the salon to give advice on hair and lifestyle choices.
The competitor also has eyes on the prize of $150,000 which hopefully helps them to fulfill their dream of starting a posh salon. Leading brands in the hair industry, including Great Lengths extensions, Rossano Ferretti Parma hair treatments, Gama Professional dryers, and Maletti salon furniture, will work with a team of experts led by Rossano to make sure the project is successful.
The winner will also become a member of the esteemed international teaching team of the MDB Education hairstyling master’s program and get an additional $10,000 to spend on their business.
Hair maestro Rossano is among the most well-known stylists in the world, renowned for his avant-garde “The Method” cutting technique. Celebrities, royals, and VIPs attend his luxury salons in Milan, Paris, New York, Miami, Dubai, and Madrid. The Nine Zero One salon is owned by Riawna and Nikki and is situated in the center of Los Angeles. Established in 2009, this contemporary and inspirational venue is often frequented by a number of Hollywood A-listers, such as Emma Roberts, Nina Dobrev, Selena Gomez, and Hillary Duff.

Tang took Insider through his decision to get ab etching surgery and the painful recovery process and explained why his subtle results are worth the $14,000 price tag.
Chi has worked out consistently since his mid-20s but said he was never able to achieve a defined six-pack. “It wasn’t like I was big, I was pretty fit already,” Tang told Insider. “But I was looking for a specific look.”
Through online searching, Chi found a doctor in Houston who specializes in ab etching surgery. He scheduled an appointment, booked a flight and a hotel, and took off by himself to finally get a six-pack.
The entire procedure took less than two hours, though Chi was asleep for it. The hairstylist woke up in his doctor’s clinic, where they had done the surgery, without feeling much pain due to the lingering effects of the anesthetic they gave him. He took a car back to his hotel room that same day.
The next morning, however, Chi woke up in his hotel room in “extreme pain.” He said his abs felt “tight” and he could barely walk. “When I woke up, my reaction was, ‘Oh my god, what did I get myself into,'” Tang said. “I wasn’t scared but a little surprised, because it was a quick decision.”
The surgery cost Chi $14,000, and the hotel and lymphatic massages tacked on an additional $4,000.

Chi Tang’s current relationship status is unclear. He may have a partner who has been featured a few times on his Facebook. In July 2023, he posted a pic with his alleged partner and their dogs and captioned it, “Family day.”
