Chris LaMont On HGTV’s Buy It Or Build It
HGTV’s new show Buy It or Build it premiered on May 18, 2022, and it saw Chris and his brother Calvin helping people in Dallas in making the big decision for their dream home.
According to Chris, he preferred renovating as it was an “opportunity to take something that is seen as undesirable and create something beautiful and soft after.” Also, he’s found it “cool” to see the family’s faces when they saw the result of a beautiful remodel.
On the other hand, his bother, Calvin preferred the idea of building a home from the ground up. He claimed that the clean slate and lack of boundaries that comes with building a new home were much more advantageous. “I love starting with a simple line on paper and transforming that into a home that represents the clients’ wants and needs—aesthetically and functionally,” he explained.
But though the brothers may differ in their views about building homes, they are in mutual understanding once the decision is made. And this coordination is exactly what made the show so interesting to watch.
The LaMont brothers, in fact, have been in sync ever since 2010. Yes! at the time, the duo had just moved to Dallas, TX, and opened up a janitorial and floor cleaning company. Fast forward to 205, they then began their adventure of flipping homes together and before they knew it, they were up in the spotlight.
The last we checked, Chris and Calvin over more than 20 residential lots. Reportedly, they were most excited about up-and-coming neighborhoods and focused on locations with potential.
In the future, the brothers also plan to kickstart their businesses outside of Texas.

Prior to this, Chris worked as a retail sales representative at T-Mobile from May 2008 to June 2009.

Patrick met the love of his life Dawn in the ’80s and married her on August 20, 1983.
As for Chris’ mother, Dawn worked as a “Patient Service Manager Health Care” at MT. Sinai West.
Talking about Chris’s siblings, they are Calvin and Wayne Lamont. While Calvin needs no introduction, Wayne is a Grossmont College graduate who led a single life in San Francisco, California.
