Remember Daniel Frogson as “Tony Costa” from His Dark Material season 2? Well, the actor is back again on small-screen and this time he’s portraying “Tom” in the sci-fi series The Last Bus.

Daniel Frogson On The Last Bus
Netflix’s The Last Bus premiered on April 1, 2022, and it featured a group of students who survived a full-on apocalypse, as robots designed to clean up the environment start vaporizing humans too.
Daniel’s character “Tom” was one of those survivors who makes his way into a rickety old school bus where the rest of the students were cooped up. So, coming together, the group of students (who also happens to be super smart) then devise a plan — fighting back, meanwhile also understanding the reason behind the robot’s intervention.
Initially, this group of school kids was on a field trip to see the launch of “genie orbs” — a different type of robot created by tech billionaire Dalton Monkhouse (Robert Sheehan) to clean up the environment. But as soon as the robots were activated, they vaporized everyone in the audience, except for these students who luckily managed to make it back to their school bus.
Furthermore, it seemed that similar incidents happened all around the world.
So, the kids then set off on a road trip in their old school bus to find Dalton Monkhouse, in hopes that he might have the answers.
It was Dalton was created “Genie Orbs” (the robots) which are millions of artificial intelligence-powered autonomous drones with the ability to reconstitute matter at a molecular level. Also, the robots were given the ability to learn, evolve and act best to repair the entire ecosystem.
Joining Daniel this season were his co-stars — Tom Basde, Robert Sheehan, Curtis Kantsa, Lauryn Ajufo, Lara McDonnell, Carys John, Nathanael Saleh, Moosa Mostafa, Marlie Morrelle, and Phoebe De Silva.
Daniel Frogson Career
Daniel Frogson started his acting career back in 2018, portraying “Joe” in the TV mini-series Joe All Alone. The show was an adaptation of a best seller by Joanna Nadin, where a 13-year-old boy (Joe) is left behind by his mother and her unsavory boyfriend when they go away for a week.
The same year, Daniel then went on to star in Andrew Hulme’s drama film called The Devil Outside. He portrayed the role of “Marcus,” an evangelical Christian teenager who begins to question his beliefs when he is caught between the influence of his mother and a new, rebellious friend at school.
Next year, Daniel then stepped into the international limelight with his uncanny portrayal of “Tony Costa” in the second season of His Dark Materials. His character, Tony was a Gyptian who went to the North with the rest of the Western Gyptians to rescue the children captured by the Gobblers.
Also, just before his mission, Tony would go on to rescue Lyra Belacqua (Dakota Blue Richards, the protagonist) when she was attacked by Turk traders. Tony’s daemon, Lyuba, later then settles as a hawk, and he is given a ring by his mother and welcomed into manhood.
Talking about Daniel’s training/education, he attended Nottingham TV Workshop.
Before 2022, Daniel was represented by Markham, Froggatt & Irwin, a London-based talent agency.
