“We’re going to dominate this season,” DeJa assured her fans even before RuPaul’s Drag Race season 14 started. As for “we” in her context, DeJa referred to her hometown Fresno, where she started her career a decade ago.
This season, DeJa was joined by co-stars Alyssa Hunter, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Bosco, Daya Betty, Jasmine Kennedie, Jorgeous, June Jambalaya, Kerri Colby, Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté, Lady Camden, Maddy Morphosis, Orion Story, and Willow Pill.
Also, the drag race tradition was broken this season, after a straight, cisgender man, Maddy was cast on the show.

By day, DeJa worked as a dance and cheer choreographer. Her students (then in seventh and eighth grades), even won the Jamz Fresno regional competition in November 2020, earning a spot in the national competition in Las Vegas 2021.
Sadly, DeJa stopped her choreographer job, after 13 years in October 2021. Saying goodbye to all her colleagues and students, DeJa wrote over FB, “It has been a rollercoaster of an experience, but I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Also, she added that she was off to a “different endeavor” then.
This self-described “WHOA-man”, DeJa is “colorful, cheeky, and curvaceous.” She designs her costumes, paints gorgeous mugs, and rocks the stage. So, what made her so appealing? Well, undoubtedly, it was her personality, and her confidence to be unapologetically herself.
“She’s a big old nerd. That was something that helped Skye land her spot on the show this season. This time around, she was 100 percent herself,” said Clinton Moss, DeJa’s general manager at Splash.
As to answer what got her into drag, DeJa recalled that it was season 1-2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race initially. “It intrigued me, then seeing the local queens I thought ‘if they could do it I could do it,’” she shared.
DeJa defined her style to be “extreme” when it came to styling. She loved playing with colors that evoked emotions.
