Dennis Yadiel Sanchez is the son of Vanessa Martin, the half-sister of singer Ricky Martin. Ricky Martin, who is currently married to Spanish-born artist Jwan Yosef, had to face domestic violence-related allegations filed by Dennis. Two weeks before it came to light that Puerto Rico issued a “domestic violence-related” restraining order against the Latin pop icon.

Initially, the name of Ricky Martin’s nephew was kept a secret. However, Marca, spoke to Ricky’s brother Eric Martin, who revealed that the young man was named Dennis Yadiel Sanchez.

However, Martin’s brother, Eric Martin, reportedly asserted that the victim is Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, the singer’s nephew, who is 21 years old, as reported by the Spanish daily Marca.

The protective order was signed on July 1 after authorities attempted to serve Martin in his neighborhood in the north coastal town of Dorado, police spokesman Axel Valencia previously told The Associated Press.

If the horrific allegations are accurate, Martin could go to prison for five decades under Puerto Rico’s “incest charges” statutes. According to the publication, the complaint was lodged under Law 54, often known as the Domestic Abuse Prevention and Intervention Act, in an anonymous manner. The order announced that Martin and his nephew who filed the complaint dated for seven months, according to El Vocero, a newspaper in Puerto Rico.

According to the report, the alleged victim claimed that Martin didn’t handle their breakup well and had at least three instances of loitering close to the petitioner’s house.

Ricky’s lawyer Marty Singer told, “Unfortunately, the person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew”.

Singer added, “The idea is not only untrue, but it is also disgusting. We all hope that this man gets the help he so urgently needs. But, most of all, we look forward to this awful case being dismissed as soon as a judge gets to look at the facts”.
