Meet Desiree Loudermilk, Barry Loudermilk Wife
Desiree Loudermilk married her Congressman husband Barry Loudermilk in 1983. Their paths crossed two years before their marriage, in 1981. while both were serving in a church ministry helping underprivileged children. The married couple believes in strong family bonds and the entire family served in the Civil Air Patrol, where they trained and participated in search-and-rescue, disaster relief, and other emergency services throughout the state of Georgia.
Desiree and Barry along with their kids are active in the community and have volunteered in charitable and service organizations across the state. Aviation, rock climbing, hiking, hunting, fishing, and almost any outdoor activity, as well as studying and teaching America’s rich history, are among the families’ interests and pastimes.

Born in 1987, Travis Loudermilk is 35 years old. He is currently serving in the U.S. House of Representatives as District Director. Before that, he worked as a security director & field manager, senior field representative, and constituent services representative.

In March 2011, Christiana was presented with the highest award in the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program. The Gen. Carl A. Spaatz Award is presented to cadets who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, character, fitness, and aerospace education. She became the first cadet ever to earn this prestigious award.
Christiana joined the Rome Composite Squadron of the CAP in July of 2005, where she began basic leadership, aerospace, emergency services, and physical training that is required of all CAP cadets. She quickly progressed in rank, and in August of 2007, as a Cadet 2nd Lieutenant, she became the Cadet Commander of the Rome Composite Squadron.
Christiana also completed training programs in search and rescue and became a qualified Ground Team Member. In April 2007, she was on a ground search and rescue team that located a missing aircraft that had crashed in the North Georgia Mountains. She was subsequently awarded the CAP “Find” ribbon for her actions on that mission.

Back in 2017, Desiree and Barry Loudermilk had a car accident. The car wreck occurred near Knoxville, Tennessee. There was a baseball shooting three months before that. Another crash happened in January when the Amtrak train Loudermilk, Desiree, and dozens of other lawmakers were riding to the annual Republican retreat hit a garbage truck, killing two.
Barry and Desiree were driving on I-40 on the way back to Washington, D.C. early on Tuesday morning when their car was struck from behind by a second vehicle, which caused their car to veer off the road and flip multiple times, according to the lawmaker’s office. The car eventually landed on its passenger side.
Desiree thought she is dying as their car slung sideways and began rolling. “The next thing I thought of was my kids. They’re all flashing before my eyes, as they say,” she recounted. “And then the car stopped and I had time to think. That made me realize that’s what’s important.”
“The Loudermilks immediately acknowledged God’s hand in protecting them from serious injury, and they would appreciate your thoughts and prayers as they recover,” spokeswoman Shawna Mercer said in a statement.
Hence, Desiree along with Barry are politically active. Their children and grandchildren encouraged Desiree and Barry to become politically involved after 9/11. Barry’s chief of staff Rob Adkerson told, “After third or fourth incidents, you would think somebody would start to consider hanging it up. But I think it’s only reinforced his determination. Same thing with his wife. They’re more sure than ever that this is where they’re supposed to be.”
