Dessie Jackson and Mekki Leeper started their love story in 2018. Ever since then, the two often featured each other on their respective socials — sometimes with lovely captions and sometimes with none.

Mekki Leeper is a Philadelphia-born comedian and writer (now living in Los Angeles). You might have seen him as “Eric” on Mindy Kaling’s HBOMax show The Sex Lives of College Girls, and “Noah” on Jury Duty on Amazon.
In 2023, he also joined the cast of Jury Duty as “Noah,” and NBC Comedy Pilot St. Denis Medical as “Matt”, a well-meaning Emergency Department nurse whom we meet on his first day as a Registered Nurse.
Besides this, his Comedy Central special Control Room was streaming then. He’s previously written for Comedy Central’s Crank Yankers and The White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
