Meet Diane Rodrick, Survivor’s Roger Sexton Wife
Diane Rodrick married the love of her life Roger Sexton back on September 7, 1968 — just the year after Roger returned from Vietnam (after honorably serving his country for a year).
After marriage, Roger then joined California Polytechnic Institute San Louis, Obispo, and graduated with his degree in Construction Management in 1971. Thereafter, he quickly built a successful career in estimation, eventually reaching the role of “Senior Estimator/Vice President” at Tutor Perini Construction, one of the largest general contractors in the United States.
Also, not soon after, his confidence, discipline, and determination were acknowledged by CBS and he was cast on Season 6 of the competitive series Survivor.
Now, fast forward to 2 decades after first seeing him on TV, Roger Sexton has left the world. He passed away on October 26, 2022, at the age of 76 after a “valiant and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.”
But though the star is gone, he’s left his family and friends with ever-lasting memories.
His constant drive and amazing physicality allowed him to live his dream of backpacking in the high country of the Sierra Nevada, skiing the powdered bowls of California, Utah, Idaho, Montana, and Colorado, mastering the powdered terrain while helicopter skiing in the Ruby Mountains, and riding the dusty trails of Southern California on his mountain bike.
Diane Rodrick And Roger Sexton Children
Diane Rodrick shared two daughters named Amy and Heather with Roger Sexton.
Unfortunately, Heather died young at the age of 16 due to viral pneumonia on October 22, 1992.
As for Amy (born in Apr 1977), she was doing great living her life in Walla Walla, Washington as a Primary/Secondary Education Professional. She was also a Counselor for patients at the Walla Walla County Dept of Human Services.
Also, Amy’s a mother of two (Drew and Hadley Evensen). She was married to Brian Evensen (born: September 1977), a Substation Wireman.
Her husband, Brian has over 10 years as an electrician working on everything from The MGM Tower in Los Angeles California to residential construction in Walla Walla Washington. Now, the guy is teaching electrical classes for the Wind Turbine Technology program at Walla Walla Community College as well.
The last we checked, Brian was a Substation Wireman at Pacific Power.
Also, it seems that Brian had a good bond with Roger. They were so close that Brian even took his father-in-law out to lunch even though Roger suffered from dementia and got confused from time to time.
Amy’s daughter, Hadley is already a graduate, whereas her son, Drew just joined Washington State University to pursue his dreams of being a computer engineer.
“Be Pa would often say, ‘see you later, alligator, in a while, crocodile, don’t let the moles slow you down,’” the grandkids recalled Roger.
Did you know: Diane’s granddaughter’s name Hadley is a tribute to Diane’s late daughter.
