Donovin Miller On CW’s Tom Swift
Tom Swift is a brand new spin-off series of Nancy Drew. The show premiered on 31 May 2022 on CW.
The title of the show is based on the main character of six series of American juvenile science fiction and adventure novels that emphasize science, invention, and technology. The character appeared in episode 15 of Season 2 of Nancy Drew.
In the show, actor Donovin Miller portrays the role of Tom’s cousin and adoptive brother Lino. Fans come to learn that the Swift family adopts Lino when he was very young. So, Lino questions and has to find the answer why throughout season 1 of the show.
Lino, according to Distractify, is a happy-go-lucky kid who has different strengths than his science-buff brother, Tom. “[Lino] is very athletic, so there are certain things that Tom is completely against that Lino is really into,” Donovin talked about his character. And I think we will see a lot of that throughout … the first few episodes of Tom Swift.”
According to Donovin, Lino’s relationship with Tom is put to test in season 1. “There’s a lot of that kind of brotherly love relationship … going on, where … I think they come to realize that everything isn’t going to be perfect and all glammed up, and … they deal with certain emotional things and traumatic things that need to be addressed but ultimately resolve it in a healthy way that family kind of ends up doing,” the actor revealed to the entertainment outlet.
He further shared with Distractify, “Lino’s pretty much primary personal challenge is kind of sort of reminiscent of an identity crisis. On the surface, he is the fun-loving kid who kind of uplifts everyone, keeps everyone grounded, and still has a fun, light charisma about himself, but beneath that there is that sense of longing because he doesn’t really know where he belongs.”
As for why he was adopted, Donovin explained, “He never really questioned it before, but there was always that sense of emptiness within him that he begins to question throughout Season 1 of Tom Swift, and he does some very fun and explorative things to discover where he comes from and why everything ended up the way it did”.
Donovin Miller Career
Donovin Miller started his career as a child model. His first gig was appearing in baby-style catalog. In later years, he delved into modeling where he posed for different brands such as Gap Kids, Pizza Hut, Old Navy, Macy’s, Sports Authority, H&M, and Lands End. At the time, he was signed to Bobby Ball Talent Agency.
Like most actors, Donovin way paved his way to fame performing in theatre. In April 2016, he performed a high school musical as Chad in Jaxx Theatricals in Los Angeles, California.
