Dr Jeff Young started Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet back in Sept 2016. However, the first season didn’t go quite well as he planned. According to the star, he lost money and also didn’t enjoy being “handled” by the film crew then.
So, after changing the crew, and filming an amazing second season, Jeff once again appeared on the small screen in March 2022, and this time the show blew up. Though, Dr Jeff knew this season would be a lot better, he never anticipated the show would be as popular as it’s become.
Also, this time, Jeff realized that the show was a indeed great way to spread the clinic’s message about the importance of spaying and neutering companion pets to a larger audience.
Thanking his amazing crew, he said, “This is not a one-man show, and the truth is the support of my staff has been incredible. I’m definitely tired of feeling tired, but my staff has really picked it up.”

Dr Jeff Young’s first wife is named Deb Burns (born: July 1957). She is a Rantoul Township High School graduate who went on to work at Anheuser-Busch, a brewery.
After their divorce, Deb went on to remarry and as of 2022, she was living with her husband in her hometown Fort Collins, Colorado.
Jeff and his first wife share a daughter named Melody who also worked at Planned Pethood International ever since 2001.
Their daughter, Melody turned 41 in November 2021. As of then, she was living in Denver, Colorado, with her husband Theo Obuobisa (born: May 1974) whom she married in May 2009.

Dr Jeff Young Cancer
Jeff was diagnosed with B-cell Lymphoma after doctors discovered an 8 cm mass in his lung. He then underwent chemotherapy and had to cut his signature shoulder-length graying hair because of it.
However, Jeff never let cancer affect his work or his clinic. “I don’t see myself as a hero or anything like that. Attitude is everything in life. Had my last pet scan done today, hoping I’m free and clear, but even if it’s not I’m not gonna cry about it. I don’t have a real phobia of death, I guess,” he shared in an interview in mid-2016.
But the cancer scare did affect the people around him. Seeing one of the healthiest people around them, out of the blue, having to go through the possibility of death, everyone was concerned for him.
