Season 3 of HGTV’s Windy City Rehab started on 21 April 2022 and soon viewers were wondering who its lead contractor Donovan Eckhardt is married to? Even during previous seasons when Donovan and designer and home renovator Alison Victoria dealt with multiple lawsuits and a fall-out, some fans were always instead prying about Donovan’s personal life. One fine day on 18 August 2012, Windy City Rehab star Donovan Eckhardt got married to Erica Eckhardt in likely a church in Chicago, Illinois. Almost a decade later (as of 2022) and they were still going strong. And once on their wedding anniversary, Donovan took to his social media to beautifully write “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, or until Erica kills me”. He called there’s a “marriage miracle”.
And as a parent of four kids, they are also now a party of six. Their third, aka TDE III, was born around April 2021 and a year later Henry (Hank) Elias Eckhardt arrived.

He was a visiting professor at Harvard Medical School and the Louis Pasteur Institute in Paris. Also before his death, he raised his family in Lake Forest with his loving and beautiful wife Houda. Also, other than his daughter Erica, he is survived by another daughter Marie-Claude “Mimi” Pacelli (married to James), and a son Anthony John (married to Frances).
Erica’s mum Houda Chedid Coldwell is a real estate agent at Banker Realty, her brother Anthony of New York, New York turned 46 in July 2021, and her sister Marie-Claude of Lake Forest turned 44 in September 2021.
Also, Erica’s paternal grandparents were Marie and Aziz Chedid, of Mexico City.

With Season 3 of Windy City Rehab back on the small screen, viewers were looking forward to seeing if Erica’s husband Donovan and co-worker Alison and Donovan could iron out their differences. (Viewers had seen a fall-out between the former coworkers in the prior season.) But, the new season, as of the time of this writing, only focused on Alison, with no signs of Donovan. Several fans, therefore, took to social media to question the status of their working relationship. Donovan’s wife, Erica, has likely never been a part of this reality home renovation show on HGTV. And as a result, IMDB also has not credited her for any of her roles in the TV program.
Meanwhile, Donovan started on the franchise with Windy City Flip, in an episode, back in 2017. Then, between 2019 and 2020, he appeared in a total of 14 episodes of Windy City Rehab. In the City Rehab’s next season too, he appeared in a total of eleven episodes. And every time he contributed as a construction consultant.
But this journey which started out beautifully did not see a happy ending as eventually he was not only fired from the show in the spring of 2019, but he also filed a lawsuit against Big Table Media and Discovery, the show’s production and parent companies, for $2.2 million. Why? Because according to him, he was painted as the villain at the time of his rift with Alison. He claimed he suffered emotional distress at the hands of the show’s production team after a long string of lawsuits from unsatisfied homeowners who received renovation work on the show.
