As conspiracy theorist Alex Jones continues to face legal action after being sued by Sandy Hook parents Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis following Alex’s false claims the “Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting” was not real. Having won a default judgment against the commentator earlier in 2022 they were seeking $150 million in damages. The American conservative/alt-right and far-right radio show host was at least ordered to pay $4.1m (£3.3m) in damages by the court in its hearing in early August 2022. Unfortunately for Alex, this is not the only legal trouble that he has been a part of lately. In 2021, his wife, Erika Wulff-Jones was arrested for domestic violence against him. Anyway, Alex’s current wife Erika was arrested for domestic violence in Austin, Texas, on 24 December 2021. According to the Daily Mail, she had misdemeanor charges of assault causing bodily injury to a family member and resisting arrest, search, or transport. Although it was not spilled anywhere whom she had allegedly assaulted.
It later surfaced based on police documents obtained by The Daily Beast that Erika hit Alex more than 20 times and also threatened to hit him again with a “polished club in her hand.”
Reportedly Erika had hit Alex with closed fists and open palms and all of this had started because she accused him of cheating on her.
Later when Alex was asked to comment he said it was a private family matter that happened on Christmas Eve. He then defended that the action of his wife who he loves and cares about was a kind of medication imbalance. Alex also stressed that his wife’s arrest does not concern his politics and that it was not some kind of personal hateful thing or anything.
As for Erika, she disputed Alex’s claims, telling police that no threats were made and that no assault occurred at the scene. She claimed that she was angry from trying to visit family prior. And so, she was eventually arrested and charged with two wrongdoings — one for the alleged assault of her husband; the other for allegedly resisting arrest.
Because of the incident, Erika spent her Christmas that year in jail. Then on the following day, she was released on $3K each for two charges. Of course, she and Alex remained together anyway.
According to court records reviewed by The Daily Beast, Erika was also previously arrested (in August 2019) after her husband hired a private investigator to tail her believing she was suicidal and intoxicated. It is said, authorities were called on her and she was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
