Rita Jackson is the mother of speedskater Erin Jackson.
She was Erin’s source of motivation and made sure that Erin and her brother prospered in life. So, Rita encouraged her to succeed academically and also pursue her passion, which was skating for her.
When her mother passed away, a family friend of Erin shared a story on her Facebook, “I remember being astonished by the phone call you made home while we were in China. You had just won a world medal for the United States, but your mom was more concerned with wishing her baby girl a happy birthday. That kind of love, knowing what mattered, amazed me. Stay strong, Erin. We all love you.”

Erin Jackson’s mother, Rita died on 17 Mach 2011 for an undisclosed reason. Her funeral service was held on 26 March 2011 at New Covenant M.B. Church. Rev. Stanley Jacobs, Pastor.
After her death, people paid tribute to her and the grieving family. One wrote, “May God bless da Jackson family. I’ve always considered her as a mother because her son and I were close friends almost like brothers. I’ll always remember Mrs. Rita!”.

Furthermore, her school friends from Forest &Vanguard High, class of 1975, also paid tribute, “To the family of our classmate, we, the 1975 class of Forest and Vanguard High, are saddened to hear of Rita’s passing. We lift you in prayer and ask God’s continued love and blessings are upon your lives.”

Tracy and Rita Jackson were happily married until she died in 2011. The period they stayed together and got married remains unshared.
But, Rita and Tracy had at least one daughter Erin Jackson born on 19 September 1992.
