Expressing their heartbreak over their surrogate having a miscarriage again, Ollie said, “We just can’t believe it’s happened again.” “This is our third time. Every time it’s like … “Oh well, next time surely it’s going to happen.” It feels like every time you’re going to have to redo it, it just feels like it’s a bit, a step further away,” Gareth added.
While Gareth acknowledged how fortunate they are that they can try again, Ollie confessed that he feels embarrassed to share the news with his father. MIC star admitted he felt ‘demasculated’ and added: ‘And I know that’s really silly, but this is me talking frankly to you guys, and I know I shouldn’t feel like that, but I feel embarrassed that it hasn’t worked for us.’
The tragic news came just days after the couple had announced their surrogate had fallen pregnant after their third round of IVF.
The time is difficult for both Gareth and Ollie, and they are fighting this phase together. Gareth even uploaded a joyous picture of him and Ollie holding cute puppies with the caption: “Merry Christmas from us to you!” on 25 December 2022.
Gareth and Ollie have been trying for a baby ever since their first IVF attempt in July 2021 went unsuccessful.
In December 2021, their second IVF attempt failed. They shared that their surrogate miscarried at six weeks of pregnancy, writing: ‘This is not going to be the end of the road, in fact, we have some wonderful plans and we continue to move forward towards the remarkable gift of fatherhood.’
Gareth and Ollie first met in 2007 while they were modeling in a fashion show at Chinawhite nightclub. Ollie shared with The Times that he first thought of Gareth as a manly bloke.
