Gavan Knox On Great Chocolate Showdown
Gavan Knox was one of the 10 contestants featured on Great Chocolate Showdown season 3, which premiered on March 1, 2022. And although the brilliant bakers all hailed from across North America, the cast seemed diverse.
Filled with immense talent, determination, and dedication, the 10 individuals from different cultures, each told their own story and represented their communities while also learning to navigate through each chocolate-inspired challenge.
Joining Gavan over this season were co-stars — Amber Horn (Bartender), Bri Brow (Mortgage Company Team Lead), Connie Kazan (Stay-at-Home Mom), Evan Morgan-Newpher (Tulsa Zoo Manager), Ian Frias ( Children’s Museum Finance Manager), Lexi Christiansen (Realtor/Model), Maile Crewdson (Homemaker), Shyam Rethinavelu (Fashion Stylist) and Vince Driver (Artist/Host/Photographer).
As for the judges, they were the original three — Anna Olson, Cynthia Stroud, and Steve Hodge, who each are hard to please.
So, Gavan’s game plan this season was to mix flavors with elevated twists. And by elevated twists, we mean the influences he garnered as an architecture student.

Gavan Knox was 45 years of age when Great Chocolate Showdown premiered in March 2022.
However, he was 44 at the time when he filmed the show.
Also, Gavan was the oldest contestant that season. While the youngest was Ian Frias (28 at the time).
Who Is Gavan Knox Partner?
Gavan Knox’s partner is Scott Knox, the president and CEO of the Institute of Communication Agencies. The two were married on December 20, 2008, and were still together at the time of writing this article.
As of 2022, the pair resided in Canada, with their two adoptive children.
Reportedly, the lovebirds adopted their kids in early 2012.
On April 15, 2021, Scott posted an art drawn by his child, and written over it was “This piece of art represents how much I have flourished as a person. Happy Birthday, Daddy.” Guess, the adoption was worth it.
Talking more about Gavan’s partner, Scott was born on April 15, 1980. A proud queer ever since young, Scott started his career after graduating from the University of Kent and becoming the managing director of the Marketing Agencies Association. Later, he then went on to become a council member of The Advertising Association, eventually joining Pride in Advertising & Marketing (PrideAM), and the Institute of Communication Agencies, post-2015.

Gavan Knox Job
Gavan Knox’s job over Foodnetwork’s official page was labeled as a “Stay-at-Home Dad.” But he is much more than that!
This brilliant baker, recipe developer, and food blogger used to own Mr. Mom’s where his clients included companies like Enterprise Nation, Beating Bowel Cancer, and many more.
According to Gavan, Gavan chose the name Mr. Mom’s for his company to acknowledge the American style of his cupcakes. “It also described my role as a stay-at-home dad,” he explained
Besides this, back from May 2008 to August 2014, Gavan worked as a specification writer at Sheppard Robson. Furthermore, utilizing his diploma in architectural technology from the Waterford Institute of Technology, Gavan went on to work as an architectural technician for companies like Coran and Partners, Devereux Architects, and AFL Manchester.
Wondering how an architect turned into a life of a baker? Well, it all started when he was young. Gavan would often watch his mother bake and help her in the kitchen. But then, as he grew up, Gavan got caught up in a 10-5 job, which wasn’t fulfilling.
So, after having his own family and kids, the guy rediscovered his youthful passion and took a break from his work to start baking. No wonder, he was labeled a “stay-at-home dad.”

When Gavan wasn’t working he liked to play with makeup and cosplay. Some of the cosplays he’s done so far include Krampus, Maleficent, and a few other scary creatures.
