Who Are Guy Fieri Parents?
If you are a lover of food shows then Guy Fieri is no stranger to you. The star chef and TV personality were born to his parents in Columbus, Ohio in 1968.
Distractify reported that soon after the chef was born Guy Ramsay Ferry, his parents, Penelope and Jim Ferry, relocated to Ferndale, California. He visits the city that served as the setting for some of his most formative recollections and has happy memories of his early years there.
Guy previously said he was raised by “hippie parents,” who “never did drugs or anything like that.” Like Guy indicated, his folks fit in well in Ferndale. California simply suited their sustainable way of life.
“My dad, Jim, was an entrepreneur and my mom, Penelope, was a homemaker who helped my dad,” Guy said. “Soon after they settled in Ferndale, they opened Dave’s Saddlery — named for their partner Dave Clowse — where they sold the belts and candles they made.”
When Guy was 10 years old, he started selling soft pretzels out of “The Awesome Pretzel Cart,” a three-wheeled bicycle cart he had made with his father. Guy made enough money from selling pretzels and doing dishes for six years to fund his ambition of studying abroad in Chantilly, France, where he deepened his love for food and developed a genuine respect for other cuisines.
He went back to the US and earned a hospitality management degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Guy entered the restaurant industry head-first after graduating, eventually launching his own casual dining franchises in Northern California.
Guy received his own series, “Guy’s Big Bite,” which has been nominated for an Emmy, after winning the Food Network’s well-known television competition program, “Next Food Network Star,” in 2006. Since then, Guy has become a household figure in the food television world as the host of popular TV programs like “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives,” which has been nominated for an Emmy, “Guy’s Grocery Games,” “Tournament of Champions,” and “Guy’s Ranch Kitchen.”
