Michael Spradlin built a career as a football coach. He coached Abilene Cooper football for five years. He left Cooper after the 2010 season and turned around a Temple program that went 1-9 the year before his arrival. Mike was named head coach at Temple High School on Feb. 11, 2011, after a successful run at Cooper in which the Cougars steadily improved under his leadership, finishing 11-2 in 2010, his last season.

In January 2019, Rockwall-Heath hired Michael as their football coach.
