Ilaura Reeves On Gold Rush

The reason Parker went all the way to Fairbanks was to meet John Reeves and potentially renege on a deal they had years ago. The crux of his whole meeting with John was that he needed to find some gold on the land while he still had access to it.

Parker admitted that he needs help. Ilaura suggested Parker get creative and also admitted she and her husband, who had been prospecting on the land for roughly 10 years, know some spots that are pretty good.

Ilaura also turned her head towards her father and asked, “Can I show him where there’s some gold out there on top?” to which John replied yes.

In the episode, Ilaura also swore to Parker that the gold is sure to be found out there. In the end, Ilaura promised Parker to lead him to all the gold hot spots.

Ilaura Reeves Job

Talking about Ilaura Reeves’ job, she is the co-owner of Gold Daughters, an Alaskan gold panning business. She started this business together with her sister, Jordan, back in 2014 with just a small walk-up window where they would greet customers and sell tee-shirts and, of course, cupcakes.

Both of the Reeves girls were raised in the golden heart city of Fairbanks. Their quest for gold started at a young age. As a child, they looked for gold and helped their dad pan through his clean-ups.

To Mobile RVing, Ilaura and her sister shared that they did not start the gold panning business on a whim; they started it because gold is in their blood.

It is very clear that the Reeves sisters’ main focus is their customers. “We always want to stay true to our roots. We are not interested in becoming too commercial,” Ilaura shared.

They also assure that visitors will find gold and have a relaxing and welcoming time doing so. Since panning can be a strenuous activity by squatting all day by a river, Gold Daughters also provide comforts, like benches, to make it as enjoyable as it can be.

“We want to make sure they have a good time so we do our best to make sure everyone feels unique and we give them an ear to tell about their trip,” Ilaura said.

Over golddaughters.com, you can also take a quick tour of an authentic gold mine museum and be a part of Alaska Gold Rush History. Ilaura and Jordan also make tons of money selling Gold Daughters’ merch through their store. A Gold Digger Coffee Mug was listed for $20 whereas a Professional Gold Digger Baseball Tee was listed for $33.

Separate from her sister, Ilaura also designs jewelry using the gold she finds. Apparently, this is the creative outlet for Ilaura where she only works in during the off-season.

“I pursue my creative outlets and find I can spend hours working on one piece of jewelry totally content with myself. I treasure this change of pace,” Ilaura writes on her website.

Coming to her education, Ilaura completed her high school studies at Lathrop HS and undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Mass Communications (with a minor in Entrepreneurship) 5 months before she and her sister started Gold Daughters.

At the University of South Florida, she played softball in Division I programs.
