Jeff Burton, a long-time host of “The Rizzuto Show” on 105.7 The Point, died of cancer at the age of 55. According to KSDK.com, he bravely fought prostate cancer for nearly one and a half years but died on 15 August 2022. At the time of his death, he was 55 years old. The radio station he worked for released an official statement confirming his death on Facebook.

Before Jeff Burton’s death, Scott Rizzuto had updated listeners on 11 July about Jeff’s health. He read aloud Jeff’s wife Juli Burton’s Facebook post in which she had shared that cancer had spread to her husband’s entire body. “He will not be stable enough to receive any additional treatments. We’re literally out of options,” she wrote.
Juli also revealed that Jeff was taken to Missouri Baptist for treatment, where he received two blood transfusions and a platelet transfusion. He returned home soon after and was surrounded by family and friends.

Jeff wore a hat promoting a St. Louis company that donated to Kids Rock Cancer, a Maryville University program that helps kids deal with the emotional hurdles of receiving a cancer diagnosis, for seven months in 2021 as he lost his hair as a result of the side effects of chemotherapy treatment. For the program, Burton raised more than $35,000 through his “Man Of Many Hats” campaign.
“Jeff in Eureka” called “The Rizzuto Show” on July 29 to inform his coworkers of his condition. “As you can tell, I’m a little weak in the voice, but it’s been a hell of 10 days or so,” Jeff shared on the show. “We were in the hospital for a little while, and then we went home and decided on hospice being the best thing right now. As for the medical doctors, they’re like, ‘It’s pretty much what we’ve got for you right now,'” he said through labored breathing.
“(The cancer diagnosis) has made me very humble and very lucky to realize who’s behind me in all of this and all that sort of thing, so that’s been one pretty cool thing,” Jeff also added. “It’s crazy how you find out how—and how many people you find out—give a s— about you”.
