Jenni Seckel worked for six years as the principal of a charter elementary school. Unfortunately, while she was more forced on kids, she had no time to care for herself and gained 50 pounds during her first couple of years as principal. Eventually, she felt insecure and went into a regional supervisory position.
But even after the shift, she’s struggled to adjust to her new work. Thus, her friends Theresa and Seymone signed her up for Queer Eye and the fav five did what they do best — transform her life.
Design guru, Bobby Berk went to Jenni’s school, got her out of the office, and asked her to focus on herself. It was like eliminating Jenni’s personal and emotional baggage since it removed all the reasons she had not to spend more time on herself. The design expert then remodeled her home with new bookshelves and light fixtures and even had a Minted bespoke artwork produced for her. Finally, he then converted a previously unutilized room into a workspace where Jenni could work from home.
As for Food and wine expert, Antoni Porowski, he asked Jenni to be careful about the sorts of food she was consuming and taught her how to prepare French delicate, Sole meunière.
On the other hand, Tan France believed Jenni’s style has to be elevated now that she was in a senior position. The fashion icon put the lady on a skirt and heels to make her feel more confident and less like she was trying to fit in.
Culture Expert, Karamo Brown then urged her to stop criticizing herself and, more significantly, to stop comparing herself to others. He forced her to write down everything that was making her feel trapped on a window pane.
Finally, at Benoga Beauty Salon, grooming expert, Jonathan Van Ness gave her the ultimate makeover. He asked her to be proud of her sexuality and not apologize for that. This is especially important in the case of educators like Jenni who aren’t allowed to express that side of themselves.

“[I feel] like a different person… Somebody said to me before I went into [this whole process], ‘You’re so brave,’ and I was like, ‘I’m not brave for doing this. But I was blown away… and I feel really brave now,” she explained.

Her mother, Robin Brown Seckel is a Bedford, Pennsylvania native who went to Bedford High School, and later studied History and Political Science at West Virginia University and Wake Forest University. The last we checked, she worked a Thompson Coe Cousins & Irons, LLP.
As for her father, Jeffrey R. Seckel was a top-rated business litigation attorney in Dallas, Texas. He is also a Wake Forest University School of Law graduate selected to Super Lawyers for 2007 – 2009 and 2011 – 2018. This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state.
Robin and Jeffrey both turned 64 years of age in 2023.
Likewise, Jenni’s 7-year-younger sister, Regan Seckel is also a lawyer. She got her J.D. Candidate from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2023 after completing her Bachelor of Arts, Special Honors in International Relations and Global Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016. Trivia: Jenni’s maternal grandfather Robert ‘Bob’ D. Brown took his last breath on April 25, 2018, at the age of 82. He served in the United States Army Reserve for 10 years.

Jenni Seckel is an educator. She started her career as a corps member at Teach For America in 2008, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from William & Mary. The same year, she also joined Jefferson Parish Public School System as a teacher and went on to work there for the next 3 years.
In 2011, she then became the director of Teach For America, and after 4 years, she joined KIPP High School in New Orleans as its assistant principal. Then after a year, she was promoted to be the school’s principal — a position she held for the next six years before finally becoming a regional supervisor.
