Worst Ex Ever, the spin-off series of Worst Roommate Ever, is a new offering exploring the dark and triggering details of dangerous romantic relationships. Seemona Sumasar, a former financial advisor who is now a restaurateur, is one of the examples highlighted in the first season of the show. She was set up by her former boyfriend Jerry Ramrattan.
Who is Jerry’s wife? What is his ethnicity & race? Where is he now? These are some of the questions we will be tackling below.
Worst Ex Ever: Where Is Jerry Ramrattan Now?
According to court records, Jerry Ramrattan was found guilty in January 2012 of first-degree r*pe, first-degree perjury, and third-degree witness tampering. Following this, Lovell, Johnson, and Rajive Mohanlal—three of Ramrattan’s associates—were accused of fabricating information regarding Sumasar’s alleged transgressions. They were sentenced to four years of probation plus six months in jail after entering a guilty plea to perjury.
According to Jerry’s inmate record from the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, he is presently housed in the maximum security level facility for males, the Eastern NY Correctional Facility. December 2031 will mark his eligibility for parole following his completion of a minimum term of twenty-one years, five months, and two days.
Throughout his incarceration, Jerry has filed numerous lawsuits. He filed a complaint against the New York City Department of Corrections in 2012, alleging that he had been the victim of religious discrimination while doing time at Rikers Island in New York City between 2010 and 2011. In the end, these accusations were rejected. He lodged a complaint against the State of New York in 2021, claiming that when he was incarcerated at the Eastern NY Correctional Facility, he was not provided with appropriate accommodations for his hearing and vision impairments. These assertions were likewise rejected.
So what did he do to his ex-girlfriend Seemona Sumsara?
Seemona Sumasar, a single mother, met Jerry at her Golden Krust restaurant franchise in Queens, New York, in 2006. Ramrattan claimed to be a police detective. They started hanging out together.
“He came by the restaurant, He purchased food, and struck up a conversation with me,” Sumasar says in the documentary. “He was wearing a suit and he had a holster and he had a gun at his side, He told me he was a cop and a detective for the Brooklyn DA’s office.”
Jerry, according to Sumasar, seemed considerate and offered to assist her with various chores and fix the CCTV system at her business.
“He showed up to just do random things for me if just to take my car to the car wash, little things like that to make my life on a daily basis easier,” Seemona added further in the docuseries. “And then I guess we became friends.”
They eventually started dating, and everything appeared fine for a while. In the Netflix documentary, Melanie Sumasar, Sumasar’s niece, claims that their family “liked him” and “looked up to him” because they thought he “cared for Seemona.”
However, their relationship turned sour after she discovered that he was married to another woman with who he shared three kids with. Hence, they broke up in 2008 but Jerry asked if he could stay in her basement.
According to a 2016 lawsuit Sumasar filed against the Nassau County police officer and detectives who looked into the alleged offenses that resulted in her indictment, Jerry ended up staying for months. Jerry also s*xually assaulted Sumasar on March 8, 2009. Per the 2016 lawsuit, she claims he used duct tape to bind and gag her, threatened her with a gun, and imprisoned her for many hours in his basement apartment.
According to the lawsuit, Jerry faced charges of r*pe and was also the subject of an investigation for pretending to be a police officer. He entered a not-guilty plea to every accusation.
Jerry started what the 2016 lawsuit referred to as a “campaign of harassment” while Sumasar was free on bond, with the goal of undermining her reputation and persuading her to cease assisting with the rape investigation. He sent several individuals to Ramrattan’s restaurant in an attempt to dissuade her from pursuing the issue. According to the lawsuit, he staged several made-up crimes to frame Seemona for armed robbery when she refused to back down.
Jerry made another attempt to frame Sumasar six months later. In order to report fictitious armed robberies to the Nassau County Authorities Department in Long Island, New York, and to provide information about the fictitious crimes that would lead authorities to Seemona, he reportedly sought the assistance of two other acquaintances, Terrell Lovell, and Luz Johnson, according to court filings. He offered Lovell $20,000 to assist in framing his ex-girlfriend.
Seemona was arrested in May 2010 as a result of these reports.
According to court records, Seemona was indicted in June 2010 on a number of counts of first-, second-, and third-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, first-degree illegal use of a handgun, and criminal impersonation. She might have spent 25 years behind bars.
Her bail was set at $1 million, which she could not meet, so she remained incarcerated. Sumasar was imprisoned for about seven months. According to court records, Seemona was eventually freed in December 2010 when an informant informed the Nassau County District Attorney’s office that she had been set up.
Jerry Ramrattan Wife
Although there is a mention of Jerry Ramrattan’s ex-wife, her identity has been a secret. The ex-couple reportedly shared three children we don’t know much about. Casetext Seemona Sumasar states that Jerry told her that he was divorced and had one child.
After his relationship ended with Seemone, Jerry was dating his new girlfriend Sophia Lewis. Sophia contacted law enforcement, informing them that Seemon had not committed any robberies. She acknowledged that Jerry had set up a complex scheme to frame her. The police dismissed all charges against Seemon and arrested Jerry for hatching a plot and framing his ex-girlfriend after the three others admitted that it was all a set-up for Seemon orchestrated by Jerry.
