ABC’s The Bachelor: The Women Tell All had a special surprise. Immediately after filming wrapped, host Jesse Palmer asked Zach Shallcross’ ex, Charity Lawson to be the new Bachelorette for Season 20! However, Charity initially refused to believe the proposal, and once she knew it wasn’t a joke, she said, “It is a yes! Absolutely! 100%, like, absolutely. Wait, I’m gonna cry. I’m shaking right now.”
“I’ve waited forever to find the love of my life, and it blows my mind that I could meet my person and be engaged and literally have my happily ever after,” she explained during an interview.
Thus, a brand-new season began and there appeared 25 men including John Henry vying for her heart.
“John Henry is ready for a love deeper than the ocean. While he’s extremely passionate about his work as an underwater welder, John Henry has yet to find the spark of everlasting love,” John’s ABC bio read.
Sadly, John couldn’t make it to Charity’s final four.
Spoilers Alert: The contestant who actually made it to the end were Dotun Olubeko, Xavier Bonner, Joey Graziadei, and Aaron Bryant.
Reportedly, Charity’s overnights took place in Fiji, where Dotun and Aaron ran a 10K marathon for a charity. Though it was a rough first date for Aaron, Dotun (who was a track star in college) on the other hand, had a good time with the Bachelorette.
As for each contestant’s hometown episode, it took place — Joey’s on April 11, Xavier’s on April 13, Aaron’s on April 15, and Dotun’s on April 17, 2023.
The Bachelorette season 20 premiered on June 26, 2023. “I definitely am looking for someone who is a compassionate person, so someone who is extremely kind and treats others well,” Charity said in the inaugural episode.
