MTV’s ’16 and Pregnant’ star Jordan Cashmyer has died on 16 January 2022 according to TMZ. Her cause of death wasn’t provided by the medical examiner who confirmed the death. Jordan’s father Dennis M. Cashmyer first shared the news of her death on Facebook.
“Last night I received a call no parent ever wants. My oldest beloved daughter, Jordan has passed away, she was only 26 years old. Our hearts are truly broken. No parent should ever have to go through losing a child, EVER. Please keep my family in your thoughts prayers as we navigate through this tragedy,” Cashmyer’s stepmother continued. “Please understand and respect our privacy at this time. We are surrounded by the love and support of our children, granddaughter Lyla, and family members.”
According to In Touch Weekly, Jordan wrote in a blog post in 2014, “For the past two years, I have struggled with addiction … I practically used my body as a trashcan and would put whatever was given to me in my body I got to the point where I wanted to die. I had lost everything I cared about in life and felt that I had nothing to live for, so I was hospitalized for a little over a week.”
She continued, “I was hospitalized twice after my 20th birthday for pancreatitis due to heavy drinking and borderline alcohol poisoning. The worst part about that was that I hated the way it made me feel, completely negative and numb, a total opposite of who I am, but I continued to do it because I felt as though I’d rather feel nothing than feel what I felt … I would take whatever else was offered to me. Whether it was coke, Xanax, whatever, I would take it, which damn near could’ve killed me.”

Jordan Myers had two daughters at the time of her death. She had her first daughter with her ex-boyfriend-turned-baby father Derek Taylor. Jordan and Derek had welcomed their daughter Genevieve Shae Taylor on 7 March 2015.
But, shortly after appearing on the show, two of them had split as their relationship soured. Jordan and Derek struggled to find a home and they were financially weak. In addition, she had also opened up about dealing with anxiety and depression after the birth of her daughter.
At one point, Jordan’s parents and Derek shared joint custody of Evie. Even after their split, she defended her baby father on several occasions via social media. She also claimed that Derek was an amazing father. She insisted that he was portrayed wrongly on the show.

To which he replied, “I like the way it is now. We don’t need to get the government involved”. In 2018, Jordan had started dating a man named Keith Boyer who appears more than double her age. On her second last post before her death, she posted pictures of her then-boyfriend. She had captioned, “I’m not a perfect person, not even close. I’m stubborn and selfish, controlling and possessive. I make a lot of stupid decisions and don’t understand my actions sometimes but this man has seen, dealt with, helped, and loved me through my worst. He has completely changed my feelings about love and life.”
She concluded the post with, “I’m so proud of this him and feel incredibly blessed to be able to call him “mine”. I’ve kept my joy of posting our life together because of other people and their negativity. I’m so happy we’re at a point in our relationship that irrelevant outsiders aren’t going to affect us. I love you babe❤”
However, the relationship didn’t last very long.

Jordan Cashmyer was born to her father Dennis M. Cashmyer Jr. Her biological mother remains anonymous but her father married her step-mother Jessica Cashmyer on 7 November 2003. Her father currently works at Cashmyer Management Company LLC. Whereas, her mother hailed from Kingsville, Maryland, and attended Towson University.

It was also reported that Jordan got into a physical altercation with another employee at the strip club. In 2016, Jordan headed to a rehab facility to help her with her alcohol addiction.

My wife and I 100% support Evie financially and have since July. We are trying to protect Evie and our other kids from all of this media shitstorm Jordan created. We are doing what is best for Evie daily.”
In 2017, several sources reported Jordan’s profile on an e*cort website working as a s*x worker. Later that year, Jordan was arrested for drug possession.
