Country singer Zac Brown has popped the question to his girlfriend Kelly Yazdi. PEOPLE confirmed that Zac proposed to Kelly in Hawaii. “He proposed in Hawaii a while ago,” A source revealed to the outlet. “It was very intimate and the couple has kept it very private.”
The Zac Brown Band has had Yazdi on tour with them since at least July, when she was spotted in an Instagram post honoring Zac’s birthday while they were on the road, despite the fact that the two have not frequently posted photos or videos together. In the video, Yazdi is seen standing next to her now-fiance in a crowd with what appears to be an engagement ring on her finger.
It is unclear how long they have been dating.
The news of Zac’s engagement came four years after the singer announced getting divorced from his wife Shelly. As for Zac and his ex-wife, they met in 2005 through a mutual friend shortly after she graduated from Georgia State University. When they shared their first New Year’s Eve kiss he declared her ‘the one.’
The ex-couple, who have a boy named Alexander, 8, and four daughters named Joni, 11, Georgia, 12, Lucy, 14, and Justice, 15, said at the time that their lives were beginning to “lead in different directions.”
“This was a difficult decision, but we’ve done plenty of tough things together and this is our next venture — love, mutual respect, and care for each other are what we are moving forward with,” now divorced couple then shared in a statement to People. “Family comes in all different forms.”
