Kim Cruse’s journey in The Voice 22 began in the seventh (or the last) blind audition as she flawlessly sang Best Part and left all the coaches speechless. While all four coaches tried their best to get talented Kim on their team, she chose to go with Team Legend.
For the battle round which aired on NBC on October 24th, Kim was paired opposite David Andrew in which they sang Heartbreak Anniversary by Giveon. Kim advanced to the Knockouts whereas David was eliminated from the competition.
In The Knockout Round, Kim sang I Can’t Stand the Rain by Ann Peebies and qualified for the Top 16 – Playoffs beating Emma Brooke who sang I Hope, and The Marilynds who sang Chasing Cars.
In The Top 16 round, Kim Cruise sang the classic I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You) by Aretha Franklin and proceeded to the next round as she was John Legend’s choice. Now, in The Top 13 round, Kim Cruse performed her rendition of Always on My Mind by Willie Nelson and was saved by the Public’s vote and advanced to the Top 10 Round.
The theme of the Top 10 Round was Fan Week, wherein it was the public who selected the songs the artists has to perform. The viewers chose Love on the Brain by Rihanna and man did she kill it. Kim’s rendition was rich, rousing, and robust. While the results are not out yet, she should easily qualify for the semi-finals of The Voice 2022.
