Gwen admired her singing saying, “You know I’m your fan. There’s something about you that has so much confidence. You just get better and better. You’re just weird enough that I believe you.”

The Voice: Who Are Lila Forde Parents?
Lila Forde, final five contestants on The Voice, was born to her parents Sean Forde and Molly Knight Forde. Her parents have been meditation instructors for the past 20 years, having grown up in a spiritual home in Seattle. They have also been the proud owners of a meditation camp resort in the heart of the Pacific Northwest for the past five years.
Born in 1988, Lila is 25 years old. She is a freelance musician, vocalist, pianist, composer, and arranger. She calls her music a fusion of jazz, folk, and singer-songwriter styles.
Lila’s parents arrange sound baths and lead meditation retreats, creating immersive experiences for their visitors.
At the USC Thornton School of Music, Lila studied jazz voice and developed a love for songwriting. She started her first tour autumn of 2022, traveling throughout Europe to perform original songs as the opening act for Los Angeles singer-songwriter Rachel Mazer.
Lila performs these days at private parties, farmers markets, and upscale hotels. Her first album is presently being recorded; she was able to record it because of the kind donations to her Kickstarter campaign, which brought in $16,000. Lila graduated from the University of Southern California in 2021.
Lila Forde was one of the season’s early favorites. Sean was born in 1965 and turned 58 in December 2023. According to Sean’s Facebook, he works at Amazon.com. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Northwestern University.
In September 2023, Sean shared on his Facebook, “So proud to share that my daughter Lila Forde will be on The Voice later this month. Really, she is a phenom…hope you tune in to the show!”
Meet Molly Knight Forde, Lila Forde Mother
Molly Knight Forde is Lila Forde’s mother. On Lila’s birthday in 2017, Molly wished her daughter, “Happy birthday to Lila Forde! Thank you for blessing us all with beautiful music and your big kind heart. May you be met with love and good fortune for the coming year. Love, Mom.”
2023 saw Molly turn 61 in January. She has worked as a professional pianist and music teacher for 30 years while maintaining an avid spiritual life and meditation practice.
Her reputation as a duo pianist and chamber musician has resulted in live radio broadcasts and television appearances including Radio France, Antenne 2, NPR, and KING FM. Ms. Knight returned to Seattle in 1994 from Paris, France where she studied with the late Gaby Casadesus.
Molly was the first prize winner of the Diplome de Virtuosite at the Schola Cantorum, and subsequently taught piano there. She holds degrees in piano performance from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, and the University of Washington. Ms. Knight has been on the faculty of Seattle Girl’s Choir since 2006.
