Lindsay Carmine joined Survivor 43 to fulfill her dream of 20 years. She sees herself as an underdog due to her age and perceived Southern hospitality. She has been applying to compete in Survivor since she was 20 years old.
“But probably, seven years ago, I started really actively applying after I watched my mom suffer from breast cancer. Then I had two life-threatening miscarriages. And I was ready to do something for myself. I had supported my husband through law school and establishing his career, and I had two children, and I got my career off the ground, ” said Lindsay. “And I’m the type of person where I just love giving to others. I have a servant’s heart, so I’m constantly doing stuff for other people. And it was time for me to finally just do something for myself.”
It was Lindsay’s mom who introduced her to Survivor. She sat her down for the first episode and said, “Lindsay, I’ve got something to show you. There is this game that is perfect for you.” Since then, she has been watching the show. Lindsay adds, “I knew deep down in the soul and core of my body that I would be playing Survivor someday. I didn’t know when it would happen, but I knew that it would. I am part of all of the patron groups, and I have a Wigler’s Wombats hat. I’m in three Survivor fantasy pools. I eat, breathe, and sleep, Survivor. So I’m really excited to be here.”
Talking about one winner she identifies with, Lindsay named Natalie Anderson, and Cirie for somebody who didn’t win.
Lindsay adds that working as an RN in the frontline was the most challenging thing she ever did in her life and something that prepared her for the show.

On Valentine’s Day 2022, Lindsay opened up about their relationship and said, “20 years ago, Andy [boldly] gifted me jewelry and flowers on Valentine’s Day while I was on a date with someone else… because he knew. And I knew. Shortly after, we started our happily ever after. Love you, @ajcarmine14, my forever valentine.”
A year before in August 2021, Lindsay shared, “19+ years together and he’s still got it ❤️ @ajcarmine14.” The married couple is parents to two children; an older daughter named Madeline Grace and a son named Charlie. In February 2022, Madeline turned 12 years old, meanwhile, Charlie turned 10 years old in October 2021.

We didn’t have a lot of money when we first got married so for our 10th anniversary we got new rings & have had them ever since….we’ve been married for almost 33yrs…do the math…”
