Luke Lowrey first met Damian Terriquez through dance. After a few years of dating, the two got engaged in 2020. But the lovebirds have yet to walk the aisle.

“It all depends on the next year and future projects,” Damian explained when we might hear the wedding bells. But the lovebirds have already decided that the ceremony will take place in Mexico “so that all of my family could be there… because it didn’t make sense to fly 400 people to the US!”

The last we saw them, Luke and Damian attended the premiere event of Glamorous — where the latter plays the character Dizmal Failure.

Damian said that Glamorous was a mix of The Devil Wears Prada and Ugly Betty, but queer and makeup-focused. He also recalled the “wild” moment when he got the call about starring in the Netflix show. It seems that the actor did not get cast until after they started filming the first episode. Especially with “someone as iconic as Kim” being in the cast, Damian had no hopes that he’d land the role.

“But it was Damian that the team wanted, and so it was Damian who was cast in the role of an inspiring drag queen: the ironically named Dizmal Failure,” he said.

Netflix’s Glamorous premiered on June 22, 2023, and it followed an aspiring influencer Marco who landed a dream job with a makeup mogul and began a dazzling journey of self-discovery amid work chaos and romantic challenges. As the name suggests, the series is full of glitz and glamour with tonnes of romance and drama thrown in. However, the show is grimly reductive in its emphasis on the corporate side of queerness today.

Luke Lowrey was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. But he grew up in the country outside of Memphis, Tennessee until graduating high school. Then, he moved to Abington, Virginia to work at the Barter Theatre.

Later, he studied ballet in Chicago and moved to Las Vegas for work.

Now, as of 2023, he still resides in Los Angeles, California.

Luke Lowrey is a stand-up comedian, comedy writer, actor, and producer.

But he started his career as a dancer at Barter Theatre. After dropping out of Belhaven University (after a semester), he then joined the Broadway tour of CATS, Movin’ Out, and eventually performed with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.

Luke was infact good at what he did, thanks to which he who first place in Ballet at Youth America Grand Pris and International Ballet Competition.

Sadly, a hip injury forced Luke to quit dancing entirely, after which, he refocused his efforts to acting and began acting class in New York. Whilst taking acting classes, he also worked as a stand-up comedian, performing in New York’s top clubs including Broadway Comedy Club and New York Comedy Club. Finally, he then landed a job as Lisa Lampanelli’s Opening Act, writer, and tour manager and worked with her for two years.

So far, Luke has starred in TV shows such as Reasonable Doubt, AHS: 1984, Red Bird Lane, Big Top, The Q Agenda, So You Think You Can Dance, and Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, and movies such as The Choice, My Story, Greyscale, Athena, Last Men, A Conduit, Jon and Joanne, First Dates and Before You.

As for his theater plays, he’s performed in Tangerine: the Musical, Pageant, Sweet Charity, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, 1776, The Jungle Book, Alexander and the Terrible, Pirates and Pinafores, Wise Women, and Y Mains.
