On September 27, 2019, Miami, Florida, served as the setting for the filming of DaBaby’s music video for his popular song “Vibez,” which was produced by a production company. For the project, the production company recruited a casting agency to secure video girls.
Marjorie was one of the video girls who were hired to perform and paid $100. All women, including Guaracho, were told about the details of the video. DaBaby said there were more than 40 girls in the video, and Marjorie was only featured for less than two seconds.
Marjorie sent a cease and desist letter to Baby’s record company, Interscope, alleging that they had stolen her performance and requesting punitive damages as well as legal costs. Da Baby was forewarned by the rapper’s record company that, if the charges are true, it would be a violation of his “lucrative contract with Interscope Records.”
The model asserted that DaBaby exploited footage of her to suggest that she “endorses pornography,” and she claimed that she was “shocked” when she watched the finished movie. She thus requested $75,000, but DaBaby claims Guaracho’s demand for money violates the terms of the contract and constitutes tortious interference.
DaBaby saied the model “breached her obligations under the release by the action described herein by making false claims to Interscope.”
But, they settled the extortion case.
