Meet David Angulo, Lynette Romero Husband
TV personality and journalist Lynette Romero is married to her husband David Angulo. The married couple met in January 1994 when they attended a five-week Spanish immersion program at the University of Guadalajara. Thus, began their lifelong companionship and successful marriage.
However, David hailed from Los Angeles and Lynette from Denver, so there was a chance they would never see each other again. But, they both soon realized that they were destined to be together, and built a lasting relationship based on their shared values and dreams.
Years later, David took Lynette back to Guadalajara and asked her to spend the rest of her life as his wife. They were engaged for six months before they tied the knots on 11 July 2003.
The couple fell in love with the atmosphere of the Los Angeles River Center and Gardens after visiting it, and they felt it would make a wonderful location for both their ceremony and reception. The setting exuded the ideal tone of informal elegance, with celebrations centered on love, delicious food, and lots of fun.
Although Lynette didn’t design the wedding’s aesthetic around a particular color palette, she still made the decision to use a large number of red roses to make a really strong statement throughout the event. The daring bride and groom decided against hiring a professional florist for the job and instead went to the downtown Los Angeles flower market, bought 3,000 red roses, and constructed all of the floral arrangements themselves with the assistance of family and friends.
Lynette and David became husband and wife in a moving evening ceremony, serenaded by a nine-piece Mariachi group.
The matron of honor was Lynette’s mother, who also happens to be her best friend, and she led the bride down the aisle. Lynette, whose father passed away while she was a student, was honored to go to David with her mother by her side and her father’s memory by the other. A photo exhibit at the reception and the ceremony both honored the memory of these two significant men, as David’s brother died away a few months prior to the wedding.
Lynette said at the time, “We genuinely liked and respected every person involved with our wedding, which truly made all the difference.”
In many ways, David and Lynette’s wedding was very traditional, romantic, and sacred.
The married couple is parents to one daughter Olivia Angulo. Olivia was born on 4 August 2003. She turned 19 years old. In May 2022, Lynette took to her Instagram and wrote, “When your beautiful baby girl grows up and goes to prom. ♥️”

As for his wife, Lynette Romero is the daughter of Viola Lydia Romero and Andy Romero. Her mother was born on 14 August 1930 in Walsenburg, Colorado to Luz & Filomena Nuanez. Viola grew up on a farm managed by her father who was a tenant farmer in Brighton, Colorado during the Depression. Andy & Vi made their homes in Denver, Commerce City, and Northglenn, Colorado. They raised five children. He preceded her in death on December 7, 1988.
While raising their family Andy & Vi built a successful commercial construction business in Denver, Colorado.
Lynette’s siblings are Leroy (Lynn) Romero of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Robyn (Fred) Green of Minnetrista, Minnesota; and Debbie Martinez of Brighton, Colorado.

David Angulo is an entrepreneur and franchisee of Jimboy’s Taco. He had spent nearly 25 years at Taco Bell so he had a working knowledge of how a fast food chain operates. “I spent 25 years at Taco Bell and operated 43 units,” said Angulo. “Jimboy’s reminded me of what Taco Bell was years ago … the freshness, the smaller batches cooked throughout the day.”
He and his wife started the Jimboys in Brea, Orange County, California.
“It is very exciting to introduce Huntington Beach and Orange County to our fresh take on the vintage Jimboy’s brand,” said Jimboy’s CEO Robert Andersen. “We are very fortunate to have outstanding franchise operators like David Angulo and Lynette Romero, who share our passion for making the world a happier place by serving our unique taco experience.”
Jim “Jimboy” Knudson started the storied brand in Lake Tahoe in 1954 serving his take on Mexican food with a signature taco in a shell that’s griddled, not fried, and dusted with parmesan (their Original Ground Beef Taco “The Jimboy” $2.75) and soon had legions of fans which included Sinatra’s Rat Pack and the cast of “Bonanza.”
Additionally, they had already established a branch at the 5th & PCH Shopping Plaza (120 5th Street), Huntington Beach, Orange County, California, before opening the one in The Brea. The debut was a great success. The launch of the Huntington Beach outpost was described as a “very important day” for Lynette Romero’s family. They also planned to open a new location in Irvine, California.
“With the Irvine opening also on the immediate horizon, we are excited to be growing with the Jimboy’s Tacos brand and making the concept more accessible to those throughout Southern California,” David had said in an interview about the Irvine launch.
In 2019, Great Taste reported that the franchisees were scouting real estate in Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, and other cities in Orange County to continue making Jimboy’s Tacos more accessible to residents across Southern California.
