More recently, when talking about his soon starting retirement, NBC News Kerry Sanders said he traveled about 200 days a year for work. So, now, without any work, he is looking forward to being home more with his wife.
His wife Deborah Sharp, he said, has been an amazing supporter through those busy days.
Kerry said that he and Deborah realized when he was home for long stretches during the height of pandemic restrictions that it may be time for a new chapter in their lives. “We realized that we do really good together all the time, so maybe that’s what we should do now,” he gushed.
So, clearly, Deborah too had been eagerly waiting for the day her husband could come to never leave for work again. “So proud of my husband, and his 30+ years of stellar reporting for NBC. The Today Show gave him quite a send-off as he (and we!) enter a new phase of life”, she wrote on Facebook recently following his farewell from the TODAY show.
Deborah and Kerry go back a long way. They got married in 1989. Decades later and they still enjoy each other’s company. On their anniversary (January 8th) several years back, Deborah lovingly wrote on social media about how she hit the lottery when she married the greatest guy in the world.
The former US Marine’s wife has even showed her people on social media a glimpse to their favorite embarrassing wedding ritual from back in the day.

Deborah Sharp and Kerry Sanders do not have any children. On Deborah’s author-BIO for Amazon it was said that the couple also never had any pets. That they once had goldfish but it too did not turn out well.

Deborah Sharp was born in 1954. So, she turned 69 years old early in 2023.
That makes her much quite older than Kerry who turned 62 in 2022.
Where Is Deborah Sharp From?
Deborah Sharp is Florida native. At the time of this writing, she was based around Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her husband. This was likely also the place she grew up in.

Deborah Sharp’s mother, Marion Angeline Sharp is no more. She passed away at the lengthy age of 102 in January 2017.
Likewise, Deborah’s father, Charles B. Sharp, is also no more living. Marion’s obituary says he was a Southern boy who died unexpectedly at 45. So, when Charles was gone, Deborah’s mom was left alone to raise the two youngest children, Deborah, then 8, and Charles Kevin, 4. Marion, who also already had her eldest daughter Charlene had to double up on restaurant shifts so as not to lose their home on Davie Boulevard.
Other family members that Deborah has mentioned would be Hope Smith her niece and Dale Knouse her cousin.

Formerly, i.e., from 1986 until 2005, Deborah Sharp covered Florida and the south news stories as a reporter at USA TODAY.
Even before that, she worked at Fort Myers (Florida) News-Press from 1982 through 1986.
In the later years of her career, she traded news stories for light fiction with her ”Mace Bauer Mysteries.” Yes, Deborah is the author of several books and they are funny, with a soft Southern edge.
Deborah, so far, had seven titles published and all of them were available for purchasing on Amazon. Her best seller Mace Bauer Mysteries has five books in the series.
