But in 2022, Jordan’s mom is married to her step-father Justin Sutherland. Her parents own an RV business together named Pampered Pioneer. They have 175 rentals in the books. They got their first RV to do traveling of their own.
“We lived overseas for seven years and moved back to the US due to COVID, but we still needed to travel, so we decided to get a travel trailer to explore the US, ” Shelly told Outdoorsy. “After our first month-long, eight-state, 2,500-mile journey in our 30-foot Pioneer unit, we wanted to take a break for a month or so”.
Before delving into renting RVs, Justin and Shelly were both in aviation.
“We have been able to turn a hobby into a full-time business,” Shelly says. “We have grown from one to nine units in 18 months. Outdoorsy has made it possible to manage our business more efficiently and keep more of our profits”.
They charge $135 to $200 per night for renting these RVs. And they make hefty income from the 9 units.
Moreover, in September 2021, Pampered Pioneer celebrated its 1st anniversary of starting the rental business. The stated in the IG post, “It’s our 1-year anniversary weekend! Pampered Pioneer has grown from 1 to 7 units in just 365 days! With over 90 rentals to date & counting… We’re so thankful for all of the awesome guests that have supported us along the way so to celebrate, we’re offering 1 night free with a 3-night rental for the month of September when you wish us a #happyanniversary”.
