Nick Goepper met his wife Lizzy Braun in Aspen Colorado in January 2016. Lizzy was heading to Aspen to take a side gig with ESPN to work the XGAMES for 2 weeks in hopes to get her foot in the door and Nick was there competing in Slopestyle Skiing. When she was driving through Glenwood Canyon there was a moment where she stopped and said to herself — this next week will change your life.
But, little did Lizzy know that change wouldn’t be with her career but she would be meeting the love of her life. She kept busy and worked hard without distractions the first couple of days…and then Nick walked into the room, their eyes locked and the rest was history.
In March 2018, the dating couple went on a nine-day trip camping through Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona and we wound up in California. It was the last day of their trip and were in Santa Monica where they had dinner on the pier. They went for a walk along the beach during sunset and Nick got down on one knee proposed to spend the rest of their lives together with a mood ring.
Lizzy accepted the proposal with teary eyes.
As for the wedding, they gave each other two months to plan it. Lizzy and Nick were engaged for a year and decided to do it in a place that was special to both of them. Then, they called their parents and made sure 15 June worked for them. They had a destination wedding and Nick’s family hosted a barbeque for all the other guests.
Lizzy and Nick had their outdoor dream wedding at Mammoth, California.
On their first wedding anniversary, Lizzy took to Instagram and wrote, “Easy like Sunday morning! ☼ ☼ ☼ The longest/quickest, craziest/best year of our lives and we are stronger and closer because of it! I love you more every day Nicholas! Thanks for always being my sunshine!”.
