After his life as an NFL star, Marion Jr became a special education assistant at Robbinsdale Armstrong High School in Plymouth, Minnesota. 36 years after leaving Minnesota, he secured his bachelor’s degree in Youth Studies in May 2019.
He credited his wife for pushing him to attend college and earn his degree. He might never have returned had it not been for Karen. “She was always nagging me about it,” Marion told Twin Cities Pioneer Press. “I’m like, ‘Jeez!’ I finally listened two years ago. … She has had more faith in me than I’ve had in myself. Her belief in me convinced me to try again.”
Marion Jr then pursued his master’s in education and leadership. He told New York Jets, “I will complete my requirements for that in February 2020”. The big reason why he chose to pursue a master’s was he wanted to do school counseling, group & individual counseling, specifically.
