Racquel Chevremont On RHONY
For season 15, Racquel Chevremont will join the cast of Real Housewives of New York City. Bravo revealed that Racquel would be a prominent cast member, joining the previously revealed ensemble of Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield.
As previously reported, Rebecca Minkoff will also be joining the ensemble in a friend role. The launch date of RHONY, which is presently in production, is not yet known. Racquel is the second openly gay housewife in the franchise, after Lyons, who debuted on RHONY during the previous season’s cast relaunch.
“My entire adult life has been about representation and using whatever platform I have to get the voices of queer folks of the diaspora out there,” Racquel told GLAAD. “What better way to do so if not as a member of this iconic franchise.”
Regarding representation, she explained to GLAAD what her addition to the cast signifies, “In the current world climate it’s important for not only our community to see themselves represented, but also for the world to get to know a queer family in a more intimate way and show that we all have more similarities than not. That queer women can be successful, beautiful, and in loving relationships raising children too. That this world exists.”

Racquel Chevremont was previously engaged to artist Mickalene Thomas who dubbed themselves as Deux Femmes Noires. When Mickalene was the resident artist and Racquel worked in acquisitions at The Studio Museum in Harlem in 2002 at an open studio visit in Thomas’s Brooklyn basement, the two initially crossed paths.
However, they didn’t begin dating until they reconnected in Paris in 2011. According to the website Only Natural Diamonds, Mickalene lived as an artist in residence at Monet’s house in Giverny, France, and Racuqel also happened to be in the city. At the time, they were both married.
Mickalene made a 2019 New Year’s proposal. “On New Year’s Eve, we went out. The couple broke off their romance just after mounting a much-hyped show together at the Hamptons art mecca, the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill in July 2022.
PageSix reported back in 2022 that the pair were done romantically for two years and were ending their commitments as Deux Femmes Noirs before splitting professionally as well. “We ended our long-term personal relationship but remain committed to completing our current projects as Deux Femmes Noires,” the couple explained to Page Six in a joint statement.
Mickalene is a very skilled artist who specializes in acrylic and rhinestone paintings. In 2021, at Christie’s New York, Racquel’s collage piece, “Racquel Reclining Wearing Purple Jumpsuit,” brought in $1.8 million. Racquel served as the artists’s muse and latter has talked about the curator’s role.
