Mind Your Manners Sarah Jane Ho is assumed to be born to Robert Ho and Suki Porter. However, we would like to confirm that they aren’t her parents. In fact, it is a different Sarah Ho, who came from a prominent family in Hong Kong. The latter Sarah is the daughter of casino magnate Stanley Ho.
Robert and Suki, Stanley‘s son and daughter-in-law died in a car accident in Portugal in 1981. Sarah’s grandparents Stanley and Clementine hired her aunt Deborah as the guardian of Sarah and her sibling Faye Porter.
Back to our own Sara, star of Mind Your Manners. The thing that she has in common with other Sarah is, she also hailed from Hong Kong. Sara graduated from Harvard Business University with an MBA in 2012. She is the Founder and Principal of the Institute Sarita finishing school, through which she helps Chinese women learn to navigate cross-cultural intricacies.
But she also speaks out for those less privileged, raising awareness about autism and, of course, women’s issues, including the widespread problem of domestic violence in China. “Women need to be respected and empowered,” she says. “There’s too much gender inequality in China right now.”
Sara was also named to Forbes’ Women to Watch in Asia 2013 and BBC’s 100 Women 2015. She is also the author of the bestselling Chinese-language book “Finishing Touch: Good Manners for the Debutante” (published by CITIC 2016) and the host of “The Sara Show” on Beijing Television, Tencent Video (2019) and “The Sara Jane Ho Show” her personal channel on Youtube.
But unlike Stanley’s granddaughter, Sarah who is residing in Monaco, Netflix star Sara is currently residing in Shanghai, China.

Sara Jane Ho has shared pictures of her father, who she calls “Daddybear,” on her socials a few times. In October 2020, she posted, “Me and my beloved Daddybear.”

In 2013, Sara spoke to Forbes.com and spoke about her father’s occupation. She wrote, “My father builds hospitals in China, then he donates them to the municipal government; he taught me it is very important to give back to society. I told my father I wanted to be in China and to make a difference. He said, go do it.”
When Did Sara Jane Ho Mother Pass Away?
Sara Jane Ho was stripped of motherly love when she was 21 years old. Every year when her mom’s birthday come around on 12 February, she loves to celebrate her mother.
In 2020, Sara took to her IG to celebrate her mom’s birthday. There she captioned the post, “At 21, I lost my mother. But I still talk and think about her every day because I feel that she’s never left my side. Happy birthday, Mummy.”
Back in a 2013 Forbes interview, Sara shared that he mom was her biggest role model. The matriarch was 51 when she died. Sara described her mom as a “typical Hong Kong mum, very demanding and very strict. She was very skinny, very elegant, and had great energy. She took me on business trips and to meet celebrities.”
Sara’s mother was working in the music industry. She added, “whenever she was on a conference call or in a dinner where serious things were being discussed she would break down the conversation for me. It was like a mini-M.B.A. and a mini-finishing school.”

In addition to her parents, Sara Jane Ho also uses her socials to introduce other family members; like her uncles and grandmother. Her granny was a housewife like most women from that generation but was also helping her grandfather in his business.
