Sarah Shulze Cause Of Death
Sarah Shulze, track and cross country star of the University of Wisconsin, died on 13 April 2022. The death was confirmed by her family members after releasing an official statement on a website. According to the statement. the cause of death was suicide.
The statement read, “We suddenly and tragically lost our dear Sarah on Wednesday, April 13. She was surrounded by her loving family. Sarah took her own life. Balancing athletics, academics and the demands of everyday life overwhelmed her in a single, desperate moment. Like you, we are shocked and grief-stricken while holding on tightly to all that Sarah was.”
Wisconsin Badgers also released an official statement regarding the death of Sarah. They shared, “The Wisconsin Athletics community is heartbroken by the unexpected passing of Sarah Shulze, a junior with the Badger women’s track and field and cross country teams.”
The statement continued, “Sarah was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, teammate, and Badger-athlete.”
They added, “We extend our deepest sympathies, and sincere condolences to Sarah’s family, friends, and Badger teammates during this extraordinarily difficult time. Our primary focus is the support of the Shulze family and our student-athletes.”
Olympic runner Georgia Ellenwood, a former Wisconsin track star, expressed her condolences in a comment under the school’s Instagram post.
Sarah’s family launched the Sarah Shulze Foundation to advance and support women’s rights, student-athletes, and mental health.

Brigitte graduated high school from Agoura High School and later attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Meanwhile, Scott is a 1991 graduate of the Wisconsin School of Business with a BBA and MS in Finance and Real Estate. He is working as the director of BBG Inc. since May 2017. He is also the owner/Developer at First & River Self Storage since 2003.

Sarah Shulze Track And Cross-Country Career
While attending Oak Park High School, Sarah Shulze is named the 2018-19 Ventura County Athlete of the Year. She won the 2019 Ventura County titles in the 1600 meters and 3200 meters. In addition, she was also a CIF Southern Section champion, CIF Masters Meet champion, and Mt. Sac Relays champion for the 3200 meters.
In cross country 2019, Sarah finished 18th in 18:15.98 at the Loyola Lakefront Invitational. She also placed second in 21:58.5 at the Badger Classic and also ran a personal best of 21:23.3 at the Big Ten Championships (Nov. 3) to place 52nd.
In the 2020 Indoor event, Sarah finished ninth in the 3000 meters at the Big Ten Championships (Feb. 28-29), running a personal best of 9:42.59. She secured another personal best in the mile, placing 71st in 5:00.46, and finished 54th in the 3000 meters in 9:43.27 at the Husky Classic (Feb. 14-15). Also, she placed 14th in the 3000 meters in 9:46.53 at the Indiana Relays (Jan.31-Feb.1) and finished seventh in the 3000 meters in 9:58.66 at the Larry Wieczorek Invitational (Jan. 17-18).
Moreover, the 2020 Outdoor Track was canceled due to COVID-19.
In 2021 Indoor Track, Sarah placed 16th in the 3000 meters (9:43.09) and ninth in the 5000 meters, running a personal best of 16:40.73, at the Big Ten Championships (Feb. 25-27). She placed fifth in the 5000 meters in 16:58.23 at the Hawkeye B1G Invitational (Feb. 12-13) and also finished sixth in the 3000 meters in 10:06.44 at the Badger Icebreaker ( Jan. 16).
As for the Outdoor Event, she placed 14th in the 5000 meters at 16:47.14 at the Big Ten Championships (May 16). She finished seventh in the 5000 meters in 16:42.41 and placed eighth in the 4×1600-meter relay in 20:22.25 at the Fighting Illini Big Ten Relays (April 23). Also, she placed eighth in the 5000 meters in 17:04.76 at the Big Ten Invite #2 (April 9-10) and completed the 1500 meters, running a personal best of 4:34.01 at the M City Classic (April 30-May 1) to finish eighth.
Her best for 5K in the cross country race is 17:13.6 which she competed on 2 October 2021. Whereas, on 2 November 2019, her best time for 6K was 21:23.2. She was decorated with 2020 and 2021 Academic All-Big Ten in cross country and 2021 Academic All-Big Ten track.
