A native of Alaska herself, Jeanette Pomrenke was Shawn’s first wife. She went on to work as a park ranger after graduation and later joined the Bering Land Bridge National Preserve.
The couple shares two kids named, Dylan and Emily.

Shawn Pomrenke then found love again with a woman named Wendie Lou, with whom he had his daughter, Catherine, in 1993. But unfortunately, things went south again for Shawn, and the two separated.
Later, Wendie then went on to marry Stephen Schaeffer in 2009. Their marriage ended on December 19, 2017, after Wendie passed away.
They say third time’s a charm, but that wasn’t the case for Shawn. Yes, yet again Shawn Pomrenke broke up with another woman named Jennie Schield, who was introduced as his fiancée on Bering Sea Gold. We’ve no idea if the two ever went on to marry or not.

As of 2021, Jennie was working as a Logistics Coordinator at Nome Gold Rush.
Finally, on August 26, 2018, Shawn changed his FB status from “single” to “in a relationship,” all thanks to his girlfriend Monica Gomez. Looking at their pictures, one can say without a doubt that they made beautiful memories.
But given Shawn’s dating history, and his FB status back to “single,” it might be safe to say that the duo broke up.

Shawn Pomrenke’s dad Steve Pomrenke is also a Bering Sea Gold star, who hauled in millions of dollars worth of gold from the area surrounding Nome. The father-son duo often worked together, and it was also Steve who inspired Shawn to join the gold business.
A Minnesota native, Steve worked as a mechanic until he had enough money to pursue his mining dreams in Alaska. Then, he opened his first pit gold mine which led him to the brink of financial ruin. However, scraping together everything they had Steve and Shawn managed to build the Christine Rose, which turned their life around.
Now that Steve is old, Shawn mostly handles the business. But as much as he appreciates his son’s work ethic, he is worried about Shawn’s ability to manage the empire.
As for 2021, Steve was alive and well.

Shawn Pomrenke flaunted a net worth of $3 million by 2021.
As of then, Shawn ran his gold dredging operations named Pomrenke Mining LLC, based in Nome, Alaska. He planed to future extend his empire, hoping to get the mining rights to over 10,000 acres of property.
But the company wasn’t doing so well. Back in 2020, they even filed for bankruptcy, which is kind of the opposite of what any business owner wants.
The last we saw him, Shawn took over Myrtle Irene (the largest dredge in the Nome, Alaska, mining scene) after Ken’s absence in Bering Sea Gold.
Reportedly, Shawn received a salary of around $200,000 per season from the show.

Back in 2017, Shawn was in terrible pain because of an old fractured vertebra and ruptured disc. He then went to see a chiropractor in hopes that it’s a slipped disc that can be popped back in.
But that didn’t fix the problem. He then received an option for surgery to fuse the discs with four months of recovery.
We never hear about his problem again.
His back pain might be from the would he received during a barroom brawl. He was stabbed in the back and was hospitalized several days after the attack.
Did this surprise you? Well, you haven’t heard it all. Back in 2013, Shawn was also in the spotlight for accidentally backing into someone with his car, and reportedly smiling, giving a thumbs-up, and driving away.
Later, as the police caught him, he blew a .125 during a breathalyzer test, which is roughly double the legal limit.
