ABC’s Claim to Fame season 2 premiered on June 26, 2023, and just like its inaugural season, 12 contestants — each of whom had a famous relative — moved into a house together to try and discern which celebrities the other participants were related to. Obviously, the goal was to keep their own celebrity relationship a secret whilst sharing two truths and a lie about them.
For her part, Shayne Murphy said that her celebrity relative was her father, best known for being a musician who won a Grammy. Now, one of these was a fib. Her bonus clue contained symbols for a crown, coin, traveling, the U.S., as well as a deer with antlers and wheat.
For those who missed the premiere episode, each contestant was introduced to a clue wall, which was filled with items such as a green bench, a bee, a mask, a rhino, and an astronaut. They were then given their first challenge to showcase their talent, where it soon became clear that only some of them had also inherited their famous family member’s talent.
Her co-star, Travis Tyson won this round and was therefore protected at the Guess-Off and given an extra clue.
On the other hand, Hugo and JR came in last place, and Hugo was elected the season’s first Guesser. At the Guess-Off, Hugo then chose to target Carly and correctly guessed that she is Tom Hanks’s niece. Thus, Carly bid a tearful goodbye to the rest of the contestants whilst making sure to let Hugo know that she was upset he had targeted her.
“I helped you, Hugo. Fricken helped you. I gave you clues, and if any of them are right, I swear I hope you go home because of that,” she shouted at him before storming into the mansion.
