Meet Sofia Jirau, The Victoria Secret Model
Puerto Rican model Sofia Jirau proved “inside and out there are no limits” by becoming the first Victoria Secret model with down syndrome. Not only that but she also became the second Puerto Rican to participate in Victoria’s Secret campaign.

She had made her debut as a model at New York Fashion Week in February 2020 on the catwalk of Puerto Rican designer Marisa Santiago, who discovered her while working with her during a dress fitting.

Sofia had also previously modeled for Lisa Capali and Wanda Beauchamp who gave her the first break into modeling.
Speaking with Health Magazine, Sofia had shared, “Since I was little I said that when I grew up I wanted to be a model. I like modeling, being myself, being in front of the camera, and modeling on the catwalk quietly.”
Victoria’s secret announced the debut of their new collection, “Love Cloud”. To do something different, the collection is shaped by eighteen dynamic women, who reinforce the commitment of the company founded in San Francisco, California, in 1977, to welcome, embrace and celebrate all women.
This launch of the new collection marked the new vision of the company, focused on the support and empowerment of women.
Sofia traveled to Los Angeles, California, and shared, “That Victoria’s Secret experience was brutal, mega cool. Sofia Jirau hinted at her first public relationship on Instagram in January 2020. She appeared in an IG pic hugging a man and captioned the post, “Janco my boyfriendoooooo.” Whereas, Jean Carlo, her alleged boyfriend had featured her on his IG in early December 2019 where he wrote in the caption, “The best & her number 1 fan. The most sincere “I love you” and the most beautiful heart is this princess, do not invent. I love you, Sophie”.
But, they never appeared again so we believe the romance fizzled out.
Then, in March 2020, Sofia met her future boyfriend Chris, an entrepreneur, barista & influencer. She featured him on her IG but they weren’t dating each other at the time.
