Meet Andrea Brown, Late UFC Hall Of Famer Stephan Bonnar Wife
Late UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar’s wife is Andrea Brown Bonnar. Per Mixed Martial Arts Fandom, the couple exchanged their wedding vows on 30 October 2009 in Tuscany, Italy. The couple preferred to maintain their relationship details away from the limelight and spoke very little of it.
Just a day before their first anniversary, Andrea had tweeted, “Dilemma. Sat’s my anniversary. Should I plan something special? Or, go train, then lay on the couch & bitch about being sore?”
In March 2022, the Bonnar family went through a tragedy after a housefire ravaged his Nevada home. According to a TMZ report, a residential fire was reported to the Henderson Fire Department on Monday, March 28, at about 3 p.m.
“When help arrived on the scene, fire and smoke were visible from outside the home,” TMZ reported. “Due to high winds and the closeness to the neighboring homes, the first responders called on the Clark County FD for backup in order to get the blaze out. The fire was extinguished nearly an hour later.”
According to TMZ, the cause of the fire is unknown. Bonnar’s wife corroborated the report, posting on social media via the publication: “I am just jumping on to let you know our house burned today and we have lost everything.” They launched a GoFundMe with $10K goal for support.
“Andrea Brown Bonnar, owner of Glitter Sparkle Studio, and her family lost everything in a house fire on Monday, March 28,” the GoFundMe page read. “Luckily, her family and their dogs made it out safely. However, they are still missing their cat and all their possessions. Let’s help Andrea and her family and bless them with some money to be able to replenish themselves, their possessions, and their home.”
For his crucial victory over Forrest Griffin in season one of “The Ultimate Fighter,” Stephan Bonnar, a retired mixed martial artist, was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2013. Stephan received a six-figure deal for the fight, and he competed 15 times for the promotion. He competed in the UFC for eight fights, going 7-8, winning over fighters like Keith Jardine, Sam Hoger, and Krzysztof Soszynski while losing to well-known opponents like Rashad Evans, Anderson Silva, and Jon Jones.
In his most recent bout inside the Octagon, Silva defeated him by first-round TKO in October 2012. He competed in one more professional mixed martial arts match at Bellator 131, going up against former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. His defeat was a split decision.
On 22 December 2022, Stephan tragically passed away shocking his fans. UFC believed that his cause of death is likely heart complications while he was at work but not been confirmed yet. Back in October 2021, Stephan revealed in an interview that he “suffered an infected abscess on both sides of fractured vertebrae he said he suffered during a pro wrestling match.”
The infection left him hospital-bound for over a month. And according to the fighter, if the staph infection had gone untreated, it could have been fatal.
“When [the doctor] said it like that, it really, kind of, wow, it shocked me, like, here I got again,” Bonnar said to the outlet. “I’m almost, like, f****** dead here. How did it get like this? It just got to where I was injured, and a week later I tried going in the ER and got shot down and was all upset about that. But in the meantime, I’ve got all this staph building up, and yeah, it really potentially fatal, and you don’t even think about it. You’re just upset you couldn’t get treatment at the hospital – you didn’t even know what you needed the treatment for.”
