Though she wasn’t one of the lawyers taking the lead like Benjamin Chew, Camille Vasquez, and Andrew Crawford, Stephanie definitely proved her worth, helping the team with the pre-litigation investigation, drafting pleadings and motions, and conducting discovery, mediation, trial, and appeal.

Stephanie Calnan started her career as a paralegal at the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in August 2012. There, she assisted a superior court trial team in the investigation and prosecution of homicides, drug offenses, and sexual assaults. Also, her job there was to prepare witnesses, constructed exhibits, and redacted autopsy photos during a month-long homicide trial.
Stephanie left Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in August 2014 and in May 2016, she then joined Brown Rudnick LLP as a summer associate. The next year, in October 2017, she was then officially hired by the company as its associate.
Prior to this, Stephanie completed a 3-month internship for Gaming Enforcement Division at Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. According to her, she worked on matters related to the new casino industry there and also researched the sufficiency of the defendant’s motion to suppress threats to the judiciary under Rule 13 and second-chaired evidentiary hearing.
Besides this, Stephanie also completed a 4-month internship at Egon Zehnder International where she researched and identified potential candidates for executive positions in Fortune 500 companies. Furthermore, there she also critically analyzed the lighting industry by highlighting the top 3 companies and assessed the threat of competition from smaller, specialized companies.
To list a few more of her interns, she’s worked with ETR Associates (from Oct to Dec 2011), Cambridge Health Alliance (from Sept to Dec 2011), Middlesex District Attorney’s Office (from July – to August 2011), Massachusetts State House (from May to August 2010), and Shape Up Somerville (from June – August 2009).
During her internships, she also worked as a receptionist at Stoneham Ford from Jun 2006 to Sep 2010. There, she managed a 12-line phone for 50 employees, filed paperwork, and assisted the customers visiting the store.
