A group of 12 bakers attempted to try their luck at being the next star baker as The Great British Bake Off returned on September 26 for a 14th season. Tasha Stones from Bristol is the first deaf contestant in Bake Off history, marking a first for the show this year. Daryl McMullan, a British Sign Language interpreter who debuted with the hosts in Week 1, is with her. She will face off against the 11 other bakers on the line-up this year, who come from all around the UK and range in age from 21 to 60.

“When I had the Zoom call to tell me I was one of the 12, I cried!” she shared.
