NBA star Lamar Odom has filed a lawsuit against his former manager Tonita Bybee claiming over $1 million in damages. He has made several allegations against her that Tonita has responded to on her social media.

PageSix Reported, Lamar Odom has filed a lawsuit for more than $1 million against his former manager Tonita Bybee, alleging that she used fraudulent paperwork to try to seize a Brooklyn house that has been in his family for almost 30 years. The athlete/reality star said in court documents that he fired Tonita as his manager in May 2022 as a result of dishonest activities regarding his real estate holdings.
The resident of Queens, New York, claimed that Tonita engaged in a “fraudulent transfer” when he sold off the house that he owned and had been in his family “for nearly three decades.”
In the legal documents that Page Six reviewed, the former NBA player claimed that his aunt Carol Janean Mercer had been living there since his uncle Michael Mercer passed away in August 2022. The now-retired former Los Angeles Clippers and Lakers ball player said in the court documents that Tonita’s unapproved and unlawful actions are to blame for his aunt’s impending eviction.
Tonita “acted with malice, wanton dishonesty, and a high degree of immoral turpitude,” according to Lamar’s legal documents. He informed the court that she had been involved in “various other iterations of fraud,” including identity theft, misappropriation, and embezzlement. In court documents, Lamar claimed that Bybee continued to hire him for jobs and collect payment after he fired her in May 2022.
Lamar also claimed Bybee was engaged in unauthorized use of his name, signature, likeness, social security number, employer identification number at one of his companies, verified social media accounts, and email addresses. He also told that his former manager owes him money from his appearances on “Celebrity Big Brother,” “College Hill: Celebrity Edition” and “Celebrity Boxing,” as well as an NFT deal bearing his name and sponsored social media promotions.
Zachary G. Meyer, Lamar’s attorney, told Page Six, “We greatly look forward to vindicating Lamar’s right in this matter.”
Tonita recently posted snapshots of documents on her IG in response to the “false allegations”. She captioned the post and wrote, “Feel free to swipe and see WHO signed, Google the property address please before you so negligently accuse someone of such a horrible ghastly crime, please do your own due diligence before you subject yourself to multiple lawsuits an I am suing each media outlet for NOT doing their job and reporting and reposting FALSE information that could ruin my small company!!”
She then added, “Im passing down lawsuits like Oprah gave out cars !! @lamarodom buckle up buttercup we going to war !! And your advisors better have deep pockets !! Cause im coming receipts 🧾.”
