“Kandi & The Gang” is a new reality TV show from BravoTV which shares a similar theme as “Vanderpump Rules”. But, it defers from the latter show in one aspect, that is gay men. The show explores the drama in Atlanta-based restaurant Old Lady Gang (OLG), and the owner of the restaurant is Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss.
The new show has been the talk of the town for its peculiar nature of including members of the LGBTQ+ community as a cast who also happens to be Kandi’s employees.
“When I realized that we did something different than anybody else was when the commercial [for ‘Kandi & the Gang] came out,” speaking about the show Kandi told PageSix.
“I saw people in the comments saying, ‘Wow, this is dope that they are showing this and I feel included now.’ I was like, ‘Wow,’” Kandi added. “We all exist, right? But we’re not necessarily all represented when it comes to television. So come on to ‘Kandi & The Gang.’ We’re going to make everybody feel right at home.”
Torin Mitchell is one of the casts in the show. He worked as a manager at OLG but he decided to put more time on a side hustle which is an event planning and interior decorating. He then left OLG to work on his business. Kandi and her husband Todd invited him back as the resident events manager.
Besides the three, other casts joining the show are Kandi’s mom, Mama Joyce, and two aunts Nora and Bertha. We also get to meet DonJuan Clark, Kandi’s right hand, restaurant developer Phillip Frempong, self-proclaimed original hostess Shawndreca Robinson, “day one” bartender Dom’Unique Variety, OLG manager Brandon Black, parking lot manager, and Kandi’s cousin Patrick Dallas, head-ex bartender Brian Redmond, kitchen manager Melvin jones, and host Rashard Roles.

Torin Mitchell has a net worth under $200 thousand. He is a self-claimed “vibe creator”. He started his company Torin Mitchell LLC in September 2020 in Georgia. The Georgia-native event planner launched his website for the company where he stated that the company stems from his passion for producing timeless experiences. “From posh cocktail hours to intimate dinner parties; I don’t do events, I create vibes.”
Torin has been working in the industry for over a decade. He started his career at The Social House in Atlanta where he worked as a server. He had no experience back then.
On his website, Torin shared, “Guests were in awe at the inviting cozy decor and energetic staff, and it was at this moment that I realized it was not the food alone bringing in guest, it was the experience! From the hospitality of the staff to the ambiance of the building’s design, it all added to the experience that the patrons longed to receive. Since then, I have aspired to create one-of-a-kind experiences in my way.”

He provides consultation/mentorship services, interior design services, and even design services. For a consultation, he charges $50/hour. As an interior designer, he charges $50/hour for consultation, and if he had to work on small designs, he charged $500 whereas $750 for medium size designing (master bedroom, living room, and walk-up restaurant), and $1500 for (2+ rooms, dine-in storefront, and boutique).

Torin started his journey in OLG as an event manager in late 2016. He had nothing but a car, a few clothes, and his talent so he was legit homeless. He persevered, stayed loyal, and eventually found success in his journey.
