TMZ reported that Bob’s family said that he was found dead in his home. The former New Orleans officer was a double amputee, and his police peers always spoke fondly of Bob. Wayne previously thought Uncle Bob had already passed — he rapped about it in the 2015 track, “London Roads” — but he was alive, got in touch with Weezy … and they resumed their friendship.
As the story goes, Wayne managed to make a 911 call and scurry to the front door to wait for assistance. Hoobler heard the police dispatcher say there was a youngster with a self-inflicted gunshot wound who required help and he hurried to the location while on his way to work an off-duty security job.

Back in August 2021, Uncle Bob spoke to TMZ and revealed that Wayne told him personally he has his back for life if he ever needs anything. Bob said that he met Wayne in 2019 when he had a radio show in his hometown of New Orleans and says Wayne offered to assist him with any financial support that he may need.
Robert Hoobler said that Wayne had heard rumors that he had passed away and so the rapper was even ready to pay for his funeral costs.

According to Robert Hoobler’s LinkedIn, he became a police officer at New Orleans Police Department in May 1988. His job comprised working in neighbor and business areas. He also enforced all local, state, and federal laws did investigation of traffic accidents, issued traffic citations, burglary investigations, VICE investigations, and homicide investigations.
He served as a police officer for nearly 19 years at New Orleans Police Department. In May 2009, he joined Jefferson Parish as a deputy and served in that role till November 2012.

But back in 2012, Robert was accused of misconduct in office for using his Taser on a detained suspect. He was charged with second-degree battery or simple battery on Marrero resident Leron Anderson, who the deputy was detaining on suspicion of breaking a protective order.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office claimed Hoobler deployed the Taser at least three times during the arrest of Anderson on November 1 even though Anderson wasn’t resisting, leading to his termination in April as a result of the incident.
According to court records, Robert detained Anderson at his Cohen Avenue residence on suspicion of violating a protection order. Anderson started banging on the door of Uncle Bob’s patrol cruiser while they were traveling to the Gretna parish jail.
According to the criminal affidavit for Robert, Anderson broke a rear glass when Hoobler pulled over. Hoobler claimed he used his Taser at that point.
