Who Is Courtney Ames?

Courtney Ames is a friend of Rachel Lee, the mastermind behind the Bling Ring. She was the one who introduced Alexis and Nick to Johnny Ajar and Roy Lopez. It has been alleged that Courtney caught the wind of Rachel’s robbery of the residences of Paris Hilton and Audrina Patridge.

Courtney received the stolen item from Rachel whereas Johnny, AKA Johnny Dangerous sold those stolen items to support their habit of drug abuse. However, Johnny didn’t involve himself in any of the robberies and he was already on record for drug trafficking. Courtney’s lawyer, Robert Schwartz, later denied that she was involved in the burglaries.

Another friend Roy worked with Courtney at a Calabasas restaurant and sold stolen items in addition to participating in at least one of the burglaries of Paris Hilton’s home, from which he allegedly stole $2 million in jewelry.

After Nick Prugo’s arrest, he confessed everything related to those burglaries. The rest of the groups were served search warrants after that including Courtney. She was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, residential burglary, and receiving stolen property. Courtney had Lindsay’s jewelry and a gun that belong to Megan Fox’s then-husband Brian Austin Green.

Courtney was sentenced to two months of community service and three years of probation.

Later, all those charges were dismissed after the main investigator in the case appeared in the film version of the events and created a conflict of interest. She had received additional counts of residential burglary when she wore Lindsay Lohan’s stolen necklace to court.

Where Is Bling Ring Courtney Ames Now?

Despite her involvement in the Calabasas heist, Courtney Ames was allowed a plea deal. That’s mostly because, according to the docuseries, Lead Investigative Detective Brett Goodkin’s decision to act as a consultant on a movie based on all of this undermined the state’s case.

Courtney was sentenced to two months of community service and three years of probation.

In July 2016, PageSix reported that she filed to change her name from Ames to keep a low profile as well as to honor her step-father. She changed her last name to Shields because her stepfather, boxer Randy Shields, is more of a parental figure than her own dad. She is now seeking privacy and doesn’t speak to the media anymore.

Courtney Ames went on to study psychology, speech, and child development at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California. She reportedly excelled in her academic endeavors. At the time of her arrest, she had a waitressing job.

As for her current job, Courtney’s career is a mystery. But talking about her past ordeal, a number of Hollywood celebrities were the targets of a string of burglaries in 2008 and 2009, which Courtney’s friends committed. They developed into the first and most effective burglary ring in Hollywood history.

The adolescents convicted of participating in these burglaries have gone by numerous titles, including “The Burglar Bunch” and “The Bling Ring,” and for a year, celebrities in the Los Angeles area were scared that they would be the next victim.

Because the group’s members viewed the victims as fashion idols, they were singled out as targets. According to Prugo, they opted to target women as their major victims “primarily because [women] like women’s items.” The members got resolved to steal a celebrity’s clothes if they appreciated the celebrity’s sense of style. Lee called their mischief “going shopping.”

They used Google Maps and the website celebrityaddressaerial.com to locate the homes of their targets, and they used websites like Facebook and Twitter to look up the victims’ schedules, such as their attendance at celebrity events, to establish when they would be away.

Their notable victims were Paris Hilton, Audrina Patridge, Rachel Bilson, Orlando Bloom, and Miranda Kerr, Brian Austin Green and ex-wife Megan Fox, and Lindsay Lohan.
